A Few Shots with a Mamiyaflex
kris-bochenek replied to John Seaman's topic in Classic Manual Film Cameras

I had two Mamiyaflex cameras over the last three years, but I never liked them that much. I prefer my fixed lens TLR and for anything else I use Nikon SLR from the period. Those shots are very sharp- good work.
-
Moskva 5 is a folding camera. I was going to pick one of those up but the prices can go high.

Rolleicord V Puerto Rico

Great images taken with your Rollei. I own few rolleis myself and they all are amazing cameras. From your shots my favorite has to be fort. The concrete texture looks great. -

I happen to keep my press kit for around 3-4 months mixed in storage bottles. It works and I have been doing that for last few years. I would not keep it longer than 6 months though.
-

Nikkormat goes to the Zoo
kris-bochenek replied to kris-bochenek's topic in Classic Manual Film Cameras
@ Alan. I processed the film in Rodial 1:50 for 13 minutes and scanned it on my Epson V500. Cory, it is true what you said about portraits no just being posed shots showing toothers but also shots showing emotions deep inside the photographed subjects. -
Nikkormat goes to the Zoo
kris-bochenek replied to kris-bochenek's topic in Classic Manual Film Cameras

I used Fuji Acros for all the shots, cooked up in Rodinal 1:50. It was quite sunny with mostly direct light. The camera's meter worked fine, but I think that next time I will use my handheld one as I seem to get more consistent results. Overall it was a nice trip and the gear worked fine. I got the 135 for less than 20 bucks and it's in very good condition. I hope you enjoyed this short trip to Lincoln Park Zoo. If you ever stroll by Chicago, make sure to visit it. It's worth it.
-

On the way back we came across Flamingo habitat - trust me they were all pink. Here I switched back to 50mm as I couldn't back far enough to frame the shot.

-

Anita and Erik both marvel at the animals. This was Erik's first zoo trip and Anita's second.

-

The birds habitats are all indoors with artificial light, but I still took this shot at probably 1/50s.

-

Nikkormat goes to the Zoo

As we approached Mercat habitat, one of them was quite relaxed and showed us his goods. I guess it's easy to achieve this state of relaxation when lions are not around.

-

Nikkormat goes to the Zoo

While inside, I soon learned that 50mm is not going to cut it for animal shots, so I switched to 135.

-

It has been a while since I posted a camera related thread here. It was mostly due to us moving and few other factors that slowed me down with film processing and camera acquisitions. I promise to make up to you guys by posting some interesting models in coming weeks. Over last few months I've acquired some Nikkor lenses for very good prices. I got a 200mm f/4, 135mm f/3.5, some rings and extension bellows for my film cameras. I have a macro project going on now, but today, I'm sharing my results with 135mm and a 50mm f/2 Nikkor lenses. Few weeks ago my family and I took a drive to Chicago's Zoo (Lincoln park Zoo) just 2 miles from downtown Chicago. The admission is free, but you pay for parking, unless you take the train or buss. I wanted to shoot some film with my Nikkormat camera and two lenses. So, lets get started. First up is a shot taken with 50mm at the Zoo's entrance. Erik and Anita have just conquered this brass lion.

Ektar 100 and sunsets
kris-bochenek replied to kris-bochenek's topic in The Wet Darkroom: Film, Paper & Chemistry

@JDM. Same roll although different light conditions. Most of the shots were taken in daylight and just two or three were taken during sunset and those scanned blue. I will try to re-scan them and see if I can adjust WB.
-

I have been shooting some color Ektar 100 on my recent trip and some shots were during sunsets. The shots came out blue when developed in C41 kit while all others came out good. What could be causing the blue cast (OK white balance) but how to rectify it?

I still do, Rob. Would you like them? If so PM me your info and I will get them sent out.

Nice collection. Say these were like go pros of the yesteryear. I wonder how many of them are still out there in working condition. -

Hi all I have not been able to post much since we were in process of moving to a larger house. Now that that's done, I went through some of my camera stuff and found items that I didn't I had. So this said, I would like to give away a set of Vivitar closeup filters series 6. Two Miranda lens hoods 135 mm and 35mm as well as Hoya 27 mm eye piece cup. I will ship these to one person or few people that will post here with clear intentions to take one or all items. As a side note, I did shoot few rolls of film during my time off the net and I got a Rollecord 1 from CLA that I will be putting through its paces. Next month or so I should have soething to chum on.
