Thank you all for your comments, Tony it was one of those pictures that just popped right out at me, I am not sure whether I should have taken my arm out in picture taking mode, but as it's me it's very relevant :)

Adrienne this was a railway bridge, I had just missed the train and it was so far in the distance that it wasn't a keeper. This cyclist appeared out of nowhere, there was a little a little further down and he must have come from there, I was very surprised to see him, so in answer to your question, from hut to home.
Matthijs it does have a look of a painting I feel, I wouldn't want to go any further on the processing as I think it suits the mood of the image.
Peter i could possibly push him a little further to the right, I was a little worried that it would have left too much space to the left, I will think about that and reconsider.
Thank you for all your comments.

More to see in this case would have been a doorway that people were constantly walking in and out of and somebody sitting down that didn't want to be photographed, it was a small outside deck and i had just met this person who invited me up for a beer as I was trespassing in his garden taking pictures of the sunset.
It's a head shot just like you have in your Afghan folders, nothing more than a face, personally i like it and don't see why he has to drink some coffee, I think you are missing something, the subject isn't at least in my opinion.

This is wonderful work on so many levels.

I think the elements within the picture throw out the rule of thirds in this picture Ray which i don't live and die by, it was a quick grab shot in essence, if she had moved any further along her head might have been on the electrical box?

Thank you chaps, it was an extremely humid afternoon, but you can't beat the afternoon shadows created by these huge Live Oaks that populate Savannah, thanks for looking and commenting.

Thank you Mike, it was a very lively night as Mother Nature really put on a good show.

Wonderful exposure and good story, the light on the gentleman's face is fantastic.

Comments welcome, I did think of cropping the sky along the top third
but it didn't work.

J, I don't have a problem with anybody pointing out faults or merits in the picture that is there in front of them, I can't see the point of dreaming up different scenarios that the subject could have been doing other than standing in front of a paneled wall because that is what I am presenting.
It's a portrait and exactly what I intended it to be, it's about expression and age in an old man, texture of his skin, lines and the light in his eyes. To say the picture doesn't show as well as it could because he is not drinking coffee leads me to think you may have missed the point or it's not something that interests you, that's ok, your comment actually made me laugh not annoyed ;-)
