1.
Happy Wednesday everyone!
Thank you to Rick and Jeff for you kind words!
I was drawn to the shutters on the half-wall between the restaurant and the bar area. We were later told that they came from the original home that sat on this location. Their colors and textures were wonderful.
Have a wonderful Holiday Week.

00XtcR-313577684.jpg.e778244350dc6625fbb690dbd5f20952.jpg

With the cold weather pummeling the South, I thought a little frost with fit right in. This was all that was left of a patch of Black-Eyed-Susans. They are very hardy and will be back next year but for now they are covered with a blanket of snow. This was a fun shot!

Happy Wednesday and have a great week.

    Gej

  3.
Happy WedNEsDAy from on the Road.
This week the picture I'm sending to you is from what my wife calls the 'Trip of Terror'... AKA as the Colorado National Monument. Beautiful is a good synonym for this site. However, my wife kept scooting to the center of the car, hoping that the center of gravity would change. No guardrails and a very shot distance from safe to plummeting to one's demise. If you get the chance to travel the 23 miles, do spend the time. We arrived an hour or so before sunset. As you can see, this shot was taken after the sun had set from where I was standing. I hope you enjoy the shot.

  4.
Hello to all From On the Road.
My shot is of an abandoned church in Milford, Iowa. I saw if from Interstate 80 and pulled off at the next exit. Then I hiked for about 20 minutes. The grass was four feet high and the temperature was in the 90s. Not the smartest thing I’ve ever done. Got the shot I wanted and a few that I found to be interesting. The church has seen vandals. The stained glass is broken or stolen and the inside has been trashed. Too bad... It probably was a beautiful little church. The schoolhouse next-door is in the same condition. Still, I found the church be beautiful in its own way. I hope you do too. Signing off from Reno.

  5.
Happy WedNEsDAy!
Not quite as hot as last week but the weatherman says the end of the week could be a scorcher. My wife planted these lilies a couple of years ago. They are beautiful for a few week and then the flowers are gone. Too bad!

  6.
Happy WedNEsDAy everyone!
My shot today comes from a panoramic that I stitched together. The photos that comprise this panorama were shot in Hawaii. The view is of a taro field, just after a thunderstorm and about an hour before sunset. It's near the North Shore where we saw lots of big waves and some fearless surfers.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.

  7.
Happy WedNEsDAy and Good Morning.
It was after 8:00PM when the rain cleared and the day became beautiful. I was given a cart and allowed to go out on The Bear. You are looking back up the fairway from a hazard. Everything looked just about perfect.

00WgIH-252239584.jpg.aab846fe8f78dff8744c66febc4026ac.jpg

  8.
Good morning WedNEsDAy photographers.
I saw this barn while on a birthday weekend get-a-way in Traverse City, Mi. It was raining when I took the shot. The lines and angles looked interesting and I hope you like it.
Have a great week!

  9.
Good morning and Happy WedNEsDAy!
Thank you - Jose Arnaud, Kent Shafer, Richard Snow and Doug Rice for you comments and interest in my photo last week. I appreciate you taking the time to write.

The photo is from the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. I liked the sky and the definition of the columns. Hope you enjoy the view.

00WXhZ-247091584.jpg.fa84a09dae3986c901745e0507c9a973.jpg

Thank you to everyone who commented on my photos the last couple of weeks. I appreciate your time and comments. I apologize for not reciprocating but I’ve been sick and am just now beginning to feel better. My doctor says I’ve turned the corner and am on the mend.

I haven’t been out of the house to photograph anything for over ten days and for that reason I’m submitting a shot taken in ’07 with my first Nikon. Just looking at it made me feel a little better. I hope you like it.

Happy WedNEsDay everyone!

This photo was taken in September in San Francisco. The site is know as the Palace of Fine Arts. I was going to post a different photo but my eldest daughter liked this shot better than the one on the Palace of Fine Arts web site. So here you go.

Background: The Panama Pacific Exposition of 1915 was an event dedicated to progress, the celebration of the completion of the Panama Canal, and the rebirth of San Francisco following the disastrous 1906 earthquake. If you would like to read the rest of the background info: http://www.palaceoffinearts.org/

Happy WedNEsDAy to one and all.

I would like to thank Tiffany, Wayne, Roberta, Doug, Martin, Fred and Ray for your our comments on my submission last week. I appreciate your time and value your kind words of encouragement.

My photo this week is of a very small section of the rusted and weathered chain that boarders the road leading to the Golden Gate Bridge. It’s easy to look past this barrier while viewing the Bay and looking at all the activity under and around the Golden Gate. There is probably ¼ to ½ mile of this chain separating the road from the water. I can’t imagine the time and effort that went into its construction. Hope you like it.

Happy WedNEsDAy everyone!

This is from Fort Morgan in Alabama. I’ve always liked aged brick and the two windows that allow you to look beyond the room into the courtyard, I believe, add interest. I particularly like the way the sun hits the grouping of barrels, while the single barrel sits in the corner.

    Flowers - Flowers Everywhere!

This week I tried something a little different. I used my 105 Macro & tried a Granite Tile for Reflection. Of all the shots, I liked this the best.

    Have a wonderful week!

  15.
This week the submissions are spectacular! Congratulations all.
After driving 1009 miles on Sunday, we were welcomed home by rain, thunder and lightening. It has continued to rain for the last two days.... Not a good photo week. I miss the Alabama sunsets already. That is why I'm offering one more this week. I hope it brings a smile to your face.

00WBOn-234967584.jpg.661a372c02e8fb86205e44a42c3d3ffb.jpg
