1.
I dug out some photos of the Polar Express Steam Engine for a friend and then started to mess around with a Topaz filter. When I was finished it looked a little like a LeRoy Neiman painting. I like the results! Hope you do too.

00arbN-497775584.jpg.e48841970ea8b181230c1bec2c56f5a3.jpg

 2.
Found the Con Air airplane the other night while driving around Wendover, NV. I'm only guessing, but most of you probably saw Nicolas Cage fly Con Air into Las Vegas! I liked the movie.

00acys-483083584.jpg.5e2b5b6ae3497be0d84a578cb987244d.jpg

 3.
Happy Wednesday Nikonians!

Although we were only in Las Vegas for an evening, we made the most of our time there. We visited the Bellagio Casino, not to gamble but instead to view their fountain and stroll through their botanical garden. Both have been portrayed in numerous movies.
As you enter the Bellagio Casino from the Strip, there above your head are numerous miniature hot air balloons.
I hope you enjoy the photo.

00aY6I-477403584.jpg.c8d69fd97425b2d9d3447c3b27e9b138.jpg

 4.
While visiting Pensacola, Florida I drove to the end of the Palafox Pier. My goal was to photograph the pelicans and other birds who are always looking out for a free meal from a friendly fisherman.
Palafox Pier is Pensacola’s newest public park and marina. In the center of the park is the statue of Tristan de la Luna commemorating the man who discovered Pensacola in 1559. Recently, Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia dedicated the statue.
I shot this photo of Tristan de la Luna backlit by the Sun.

00aCPD-453589584.jpg.956b6149e2dae987ec86112e96e8ed72.jpg

 5.
I’ve read/listened to nearly every James Lee Burke book in the Dave Robicheaux series. Although Robicheaux doesn’t drink, Clete Purcel, his best friend does. Usually a JAX or two are included as his liquid libation.

00a8h6-450157584.jpg.a338831f2e0fcd96455233ea31e0b56e.jpg

 6.
Brrrr!
The weather turned very cold for this time of year a few days ago in South Alabama, which caused me think back to August of last year. Although winter in Australia, the weather was beautiful. That is where I captured this photo.
It's from the Cunningham Pier, Geelong, Victoria, Australia. The Cunningham Pier area is a photographers paradise. So many things to photograph. A thunderstorm had just passed and you can see the aftermath in the shot.
