Hi Bill --
Very, very nice image. The diagonal perch, sharpness of the chipping sparrow, and the out of focus background all go together beautifully.
Beautiful.

Hi Peter --
IMHO, this image of a crocus is much, much better than the other two presently being shown. First, the flower takes up more of the frame. But even better, there is no distracting background,as there is inthe other two. I think a little gardening would vastly improve them.
I think if you burned the light twigs in this one, it would also be improved.
Of course, these are just my own opinions, and you may well feel that I am way off in my judgment. You wouldn't be the first to think that! They are intended to be constructive.

Hi Museeb --
It is said that compositions involving even numbers of subjects don't please the eye. Well, your Sweet William certainly pleases my eye!
And your story just makes the experience allthe more sweeter!

Hi Bob --
I, too, am a fairly new owner of this lens, and like it very much.
I think you did very, very well!

Thanks, Peter.
These smaller birds are pretty fast and their flight is somewhat erratic. I found I was lucky to get anything worth keeping. Better photographers would probably do much better.

Hi Tm --
Thanks for the recommendation of photosig.com. I'll check it out.
And I agree that most of the photos on this site are very well done; most are better than mine.
And you may have only gotten a C in philosophy, but I would definitely give you an A+ in photography!
I'm sure that you will keep the beautiful images coming. I really enjoy seeing your work
Warm regards,

Hi Monte --
Very nice photo of the osprey. Background sets off the bird, which is very sharp and your placement of it in the frame is perfect.
Was this taken hand-held?

Hi Monte --
I agree about the lack of detail in the wings. The sky is pretty bland also. And I would have like to get the eagle larger in the frame.
Thanks for an honest review. I don't find ratings helpful, and most of the critiques are not especially informative either. I don't learn by being told that an image is terrific, especially when I know it's not. Much better to be told what is wrong. That can lead to improvement.
So thank you for the response. I do like your bird photos. (Those are all I've looked at.)

Hi Bill --
Well red heads have a reputation for being on the hot-tempered side. Very nice photo.

Hi Tm --
OK, another stunning image! I don't mind the small bit of blur -- I think it adds to the sense of motion and struggle.

Hi Tm --
I like this photo very much. To have captured just the right moment must have required great patience, observation and anticipation. I think you placed the egret just right in the frame, your image is sharp, and the reflection only contributes to the action.
I hope sometime to be able to accomplish as much.
I have admired many of your photos on this site, but this is the first I have commented on. I generally do not rate images, since I do not think rating is very helpful educationally,

Hi Allan --
This is an interesting reflection photo. I wonder what the bird is landing on: shallow water? Surely not deep water?
I like the image. Could it be improved by lightening it slightly? I'd like t6o be able to see the face better. But the darker version does convey an ominous feeling.
Very nice.

Thanks for the comments. I didn't see noise on my monitor. Guess it's time for the cataract surgery. I will run noise reduction on the BG.
I appreciate your letting me know.
