Try to reboot the computer. I had an issue like that. The memory got so messed up because of several different applications running at the same time.

Reala 100 for negative, and Provia 100 for slide. They are pretty easy to scan. The key is to make sure that you get the corrections done as much as possible during the Preview scan, especially with the slide film. You could boost the saturation a little bit with Photoshop.

Why can't she discuss the issue with the photographer?

I don't have a digital SLR - I still use film and love it! Nuff said.
I buy film from both local stores and Internet megastores; sometimes the local stores don't always have the film in the quantity I need. And their price is usualy almost double than the Internet megastores. I mean $9-$10.50 for a roll of Velvia?? Please!

It is explained on the US Copyright Office web site under "Who can claim copyright":

I have had Dimage Scan Elite 5400 for 3 years now, and ICE does work.

From what I read on the PDF doc, the release is required for images that are for sale, which is a standard rule. It is up to us to decide whether the image is for sale or not, right?

The women in one of your photos - did they dress like that in the 19th century?

I tried Kodak UC100 and 400 in 2005 or 2006 and wasn't too impressed in terms of consistency in their film grain and color rendition, so I am back to Fuji Reala for the daylight print film.

The view from behind the museum is the 'classic' view of the Towers during sunrise. You could drive past the bridge and just when you reach the first curve (on the way up to the tunnel, that is) you could see the Towers; the foreground is a bit of the river and the marshland.
Have you been to Zion before? I second the comment that you will need to spend some time to understand the characteristics of different shooting locations at Zion. The lighting can be very challenging due to the deep shadows or extreme highlights (on the sandstone towers). See my post a while ago on this issue.

Let's do a quick math - say you buy the stuff from the store and your total purchase for the 5D + 24-105 + 70-200 is $4500. With the 8% sales tax, your tax would be $360 (this is the amount you would save if you purchased them in Oregon). The rental car plus its ridiculous fees and gas would probably cost you $80-100. Flying on Southwest to Portland, OR and taking the taxi to the store might cost you more than $200. And remember you only have 24 hours (or less) to do all this. Driving to Vegas and back is doable but risky and exhausting, especially after your long flight to LAX.
If you have a friend in LA, buy online and ship it to your friend's address in LA. This way you can use your 24 hours to visit your friend and have a good time while waiting for your flight to Europe.

Awesome! I love that lens. I hope she bought the IS version, yes?
