Tony,
Where abouts did you set up shop to take this? At some point in the near future I intend to try and get some decent pictures of the norfolk skyline, but I'm not completely sure where the best place is to take them. Ultimately want to turn it into a tattoo... weird, I know. :)

I like this, and I like it better than the one you did with the colored eyes and lips (saw it before you deleted it.) My only nitpick is that the top of your hair melds right into the white framing. Actually I think a darker frame there might serve it better. It's kind of a brightness overload for me.
But I almost always go with a black frame so I might be biased there. :)

Thank you for your kind comments. You are so right about the overexposure at the bottom. I think I was so enamored with his facial expression that I didn't even notice that or where the tree is. I see where you are going with your edit, I'll probably redo this one in PS tonight to see what I can come up with. Thanks again for stopping by, your comments are always so helpful.

Thanks.
Of everything I took that day, this is the shot that I thought the least about. I just turned around, noticed them up there, and took the shot. Turned out kinda cool. Spent a lot more time setting up the panda and sloth bear shots. They were cooperative though, only the Orang was a pain and I'd swear she was doing that crap on purpose. ;)

I'm torn between this and the b&w I did with another frame from this series. Here he is. Let me know what you think? Please? I'm going back next weekend and I want to know what I should try differently.

I guess the anonymous 3/3 rater didn't find it funny. ;p

Sounds like she has the right idea, Mary. I love the depth on this, very well done.

This guy was a character, a real treat to photograph. I thought
about cropping out his prominent privates, but it didn't look right.

Thank you, Arash, for your kind and very thoughtful comments. I truly appreciate you taking the time to tell me what it is about this picture that you like/dislike. I've only been doing this for a few months, so I don't always know why I like what I like, I just know what looks good to me. Thanks again, and please feel free to look at some of my other photos. I can always use constructive input on how to make things better.

Thanks. I really like this one. I want to get a tripod though so I can take some pictures at night. It's really pretty after dark.

Doug - I'm sure that he does number 2s but he didn't while I was standing there. Would have made an even better shot though.
B - It does kinda look like a statue, but he was very much alive.
Matthew - Thank you for your kind comments.. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Dan - Too funny.
