  1. If the Sensor Brush doesn't succeed in removing the dust specks, you can use the liquid method but never ever drop fluid on the sensor. Slightly wet the Sensor Clean swab as per the instructions on Visible Dust's website, and immediately dry the sensor with a clean and dry swab. You don't want any liquid under the sensor's glass.

  2. I think the danger with your wet method is that the cleaning fluid could seep around the sensor and get under the glass... which would definitely ruin your day...

I'll stick with the dry www.visibledust.com method.

  3. I've just received mine, and have just tried it on my 5D. I have noticed heavy vigneting (even at f/8) especially upper left, and also a little at lower right.

Is there a problem with my lens?

  4. I'm also going to Italy. I was thinking of the following lenses with the 5D:

    17-40/4L, 24-105/4L IS and 70-300DO IS.

Starting to think I should also bring my Zenitar 16mm Rectangular Image Fisheye?

    Why bring the flash?

  5. In 2003, my Canon 10D with 420EX flash fell from my car on asphalt. The flash casing broke in two, and Canon repaired it. The 17-40/4L lens suffered no damage (thanks to its lens shade) and the camera suffered slight damage to its battery door that Canon repaired at no charge, even though I had told the truth.

  6. I agree with Brick. Go to www.visibledust.com and order their Sensor Clean liquid and applicators. I also recommend their Sensor Brush to remove dust from the sensor. In my view, they have the easiest and safest way to clean the sensor.

  7. I suggest you keep the 20D. I have upgraded from the 20D to the 5D, and find my tele lenses (even the 100-400L IS) a bit short. I'm starting to think I'll keep the 20D for the birds.

I'd also keep the 70-200/2.8L IS if I had to choose.

I don't think you'll see much quality difference between the 28-70/2.8L and 24-70/2.8L lenses.
