Very good depth! Masterful lighting in the field and on the computer. I wonder how it would change if the center depth subject, wasn't so centered? -
A very small waterfall, with very big charm! Her dress has stimulating colors, with white lace trim. I want to feel the soft, wet velvet. I want to lay in her waters. Ok, maybe that’s a bit too much LOL. But the photo is 100% proof that bigger isn’t always better! If it were mine, I’d lighten the shadows on the left. -
Your photo stimulated a question. Why are those stupid birds flying around the base of the falls? Isn’t that dangerous? Surprisingly, Google says the area is important for birds, especially gulls, with up to 100,000 gulls and 19 gull species. Part of the reason is that they feed on stunned fish that go over the falls. I’ve observed similar feeding by hawks at nearby waterfalls, especially after a big rain. -

The symbolic relationship between the subjects is clearly identified by the chain. Even without the chain, the body language shouts about who’s the boss. (do Teddy bears have body language?) Simple and to the point! Great image. -
I agree with Vincent’s suggestion to add the description as a comment. On my screen the description’s font is almost too small to read and it’s always cut off. This photo is of course great on its own. However, I think that comments about how the photo was obtained and the experience of how the photographer arrived at a specific millisecond of space and time, can be helpful to others, add interest, and even be entertaining. I would also add to comments about how special the lighting is. In North Carolina you need to be at the falls well before any direct sunlight. After that you’re done. However, I think those shady photos lack some sparkle. On rare occasions I’ve seen that elusive sweet spot between the dark and the light, but haven’t yet captured it. Thom has! -
Excellent light combined with good composition! Good dynamic range. The green banks really help set the mood. Many of the North Carolina falls are framed by dark rocks. If you do a tight composition you get a black and white photo, no matter what. Or worse if he light is pointed downstream, the falls are framed by big black holes.

Probably something only a few would notice, even less would take a photo, and only a good photographer would frame properly! -

Today someone sent me a link to the Wiki Loves Earth 2020 winners. Three were Kingfisher images. They were fantastic! But yours is much better!!! My attempts to get even an average Kingfisher image always ends with a string of BAD four letter words. They wait until I’m just about to get in range and dart off laughing! Every time! Wile E Coyote had a better relationship with the Roadrunner than I have with Kingfishers. So that experience makes me even more jealous of your image. I guess I’ll just have to stick to photographing those big, slow birds. -

The Belles Dame on the left needs a hat to shade her whole face and to lose the sun glasses. Photo is an excellent example of good and bad lighting in contrasty light. -

This photo puts an end to any doubts about the sharpness of the sigma 300-800. About 15 years ago I bought a used sigma 400 from a local pro. Images were sharp. However, after about 3 years of light use the lens started falling apart. Since then I’ve been skeptical of buying Sigma. I replaced the Sigma with a Nikon 80-400 and have been happy with that, but there are times when an 800mm would be the difference between trash and treasure. How is your sigma holding up? -
