Thanks guys, I thought the backs could be used as you described.
-
Can you use a 120 or 220 film insert in the SAME film back or is there also a
120 back and a 220 back for each respective film size?
-
I currently have two Pentax 645M cameras and would like to be able to have the
option down the road for a digital back. Would buying a Mamiya 645 Pro give me
that option?
Also what would be the minimum pieces needed to have a functional camera, such
as lenses, backs, grips, metering system, etc.?
I see several Mamiya 645 Pro bodies for sale on Ebay that are reasonably priced.

I too just recently bought an Epson V700 for medium format film scanning and I have been pleased with the results. I made my purchase after reading the review on photo-i's website.

You might want to take a look at this review and the comments on Fred Miranda.com.

Here's another review of the Sigma 10-20mm in a Nikon mount.

Andrew, the best review that I've seen thus far on the Epson V700 is on the Photo-i web site. Here's the link:

Based on this review, I went out an bought one. I'm just getting into processing and then scanning my black and white 6x4.5 120 negatives.

I finally got around to taking my camera and polaroid back into a local Film shop and was told that there was nothing wrong with how I loaded the camera. The guy behind the counter took one exposure, pulled the white tab and everything started working (exposure meter, proper LED readouts, etc.).
The first film was no good as I had to open and close the camera several times to check my film loading setup. However, the rest of the exposures that I have taken appear to be spot on.

I am looking for a consultant to walk me through the proper setup of how to
load the NPC Polaroid Back onto a Pentax 645 camera. I have loaded the film
(Fuji FP-100C) inside the back, although I'm not sure, if I've done it
correctly and I have placed the back on the camera.
When I place the back on the camera it defaults to M 1000 on the top finder
display. The LED display inside the camera shows 1000 and F16. The display
inside the camera does not change when I switch the camera OFF the "A" setting
for F-stops.
Changing the mode button does not move the top LED display off M 1000, when the
lense is on the "A" position. I can see the shift when I press the Mode button
and the up or down arrow buttons, but it just shifts back to M 1000 regardless
to where I want it to be.
I am willing to pay for a collect call and consulting fee for someone to walk
me through how to get this polaroid back setup. I live in California, USA.
If you can help me get this thing resolved, could you please respond within
photo.net or email me at:

Nikolaus, as Theo mentioned above go read the thorough Epson V700 review above on the photo-i website and you WILL be convinced that this scanner CAN handle 120 size film without a problem. The beginning of the review starts here.

I just purchased mine two weeks ago.
My only problem is that I'm having a problem with the Vuescan software, which is not something that comes with the Scanner. Epson provides a very capable Epson Scan software with the package. I can't quite figure out how to do batch scanning with the Vuescan software. I may be wrong here, but it's my understanding that the purchased version of Vuescan will allow you to save to a Raw or DNG format.

I just got my first packet of Fuji FP-100C Polaroid film and I'm trying to
figure out how to load the pack without destroying it and the NPC back in the
process. I have the NPC back for the Pentax 645. Could someone direct me to a
tutorial or can someone walk me through how to load this pack of film?
When I open up the back, it has a diagram inside that doesn't help much. But on
diagram #3 it appears that the metal clip inside and at the top of the lid is
raised. I can't be for sure, if this is the case and I don't want to try to
raise it, if I'm not supposed to.

Robert many years ago (20), I processed my own 35mm negatives, so I have some previous experience with loading film on reels. I also made my own color prints. I sold all of my equipment, so I'm starting from scratch again.
I am now looking to getting back into doing my own color processing and would appreciate knowing what key components are needed to get started again. I have no issue starting with B/W, but want to have the equipment on hand to do color also.

I have an Epson V700 Scanner and an Epson Stylus Pro R1400. I would like to
process my own medium format negatives in black and white and color. I like
Fuji 120 and 220 film and have been using this in my Pentax 645 cameras.
I would like to process my own negatives and scan them and print the keepers on
my printer. I don't see the need for an enlarger at this point. Can someone
walk me through what I would need to process my own negatives at home?

Thanks Ken.

Does anyone know the address and possibly phone number for NPC Photo. It
appears their website is no longer active at npcphoto.com This is what shows up
when you try to get to their website.
npcphoto.com expired on 06/08/2007 and is pending renewal or deletion.

Taras the size will be fine as the camera I'm using is 6x4.5cm. I'm more interested in checking color and light composition.

Ellis is the film size 3.25" x 4.25"?

I just purchased a used NPC back for my Pentax 645. Can someone recommend a
color polaroid film for this back. Also what is the size of the film?

Marcus, I was able to get the flash icon to display on the top window using my Sunpak Flash when the Aperture was in a position other than "A". The time was set to 1/60 in the viewfinder automatically. I'm not sure how this setup gets me TTL with the 645?
-
I have a Pentax 645 Manual camera and several Sunpak Auto 444D Flashes with the
dedicated PT-2D module. I also have one Pentax AF280T flash. The Pentax flash
will work in TTL mode without any glitches. My question is why doesn't the
Sunpak Flash work in TTL mode with the dedicated PT-2D module?
The Sunpak module has the same pin configuration on the bottom as the Pentax
flash. When I place the Pentax flash on the camera, I get the flash icon on the
top of the camera. Nothing happens when I connect the Sunpak to the camera.

Would it be worth it to save a few bucks and order a refurbished Epson V700
directly from Epson? The price is $415.00.

Newegg sells a new one for $499.00.

Graham the critical thing when loading the film is to make sure the black portion of the film is on the "OUTSIDE", NOT touching the film guide.
-
I just purchased my second Pentax 645 and this one does not have the black cap
that covers the external power socket on the power grip. Is there any issue
with leaving the socket uncovered? Do you have to purchase a new power grip to
get one with the cap, or is there an after market for something this small?
I've searched the web and haven't found anything yet.
-
Thanks Nadine. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

Are there any places north of the Bay Area, specifically in the Fairfield,
Vallejo area that process C-41,120 or 220 film? I'm currently using A&I
mailers, which has been reliable, but I'm looking for a faster turn around.
