  7. The mount does appear to be metal from the press release photograph, though hardly likely to be important on a lens that weighs around 100g.

  10. As a side note, the only Z lens (that I own) that hasn't had a firmware update is the 14-24. It's still on version 1.
  11. yep, about 6 minutes for the Z9 and around 20 seconds for the 50 and 85 1.8. And yes, the linear focus rotation is a definite improvement.

  20. Because with the 2X you get a 1200mm f8 and/or a 1680mm f11 and with the 1.4X a 840mm f5.6 and/or 1176mm f8.
  21. Awhile back the 1.4 was quite easy to find in the UK, but has since become much harder to come by. I suspect the addition of lenses that can actually use the convertor (other than just the 70-200 on release) has driven the demand.
