Excellent shot and technique but my only criticism and question is why u didn't bring the sky down to the correct exposure using the simple pen tool technique on photoshop. Would be perfect then i feel and how u saw the shot i imagine. Good work.

So you have martres book? Great place for photography isnt it? Nice shot

An experiment in digital imaging and hdr but thats it im afraid. Nice to have a go but not one for show.

Looks like a cartoon.

What ISO setting did you use for this one ? thanks

I am very impressed with this shot and the sharpness the sigma has produced. Am thinking of buying a long sigma telephoto soon enough but was concerned with how sharp the long end would be. Which focal length did you have this lens set to? and what f number and shutter speed. Much appreciated. Well done on such a beautiful shot.

Much better shot than editor's choice. I can tell its hdr again but a huge improvement all the same.

Why on earth was this photo chosen for the editors pics! Ok please dont take personally but i dont understand judges sometimes! Obviously you are messing about with photoshop / hdr etc for this one but thats it playing around, which is fine but not a shot one would post and expect to be highly regarded. My only constructive criticism is to bin this shot and take the same composition but true life photography on a day with interesting weather and i will return to give you feedback. Sorry if that sounded harsh but this is not photography. :o)

watch out for the sun flair

Very clear and sharp with a good selection of tones. Also nice composition. Which camera system did you use for this, purely out of interest. Thanks mike

Unfortunately is is obvious that you have used hdr here as looks very unnatural. As with using filters if it is possible to see the usage or manipulation then in my opinion the photograph has failed. I think you have to be extremely careful when doing hdr and to me you can produce a far more realalistic creative natural looking photograph without using it at all. Modern technology will not help the true learning photographer i.e Hdr distracts the the photographer from learning the basics and improving on them.

Nice composition but in my opinion the polariser has made the sky too dark. Better without.

Dont know why people are fiddling with your photo, an unnecessary distraction and certainly is not constructive. They have missed the point about photography i.e to me are computer addicts! Im sure if you were to print this you could easily make any slight adjustments to calibrate with your printer. Everyone displays this slightly different on their monitor and any idiot could do what they are suggesting. I hope they can read this constructive criticism so that they dont waste anymore of their own time and ruin what is a remarkable photo. Cheers
