"Don't mess with me - I've been around a long, long time and have seen alot of life. So you be quiet and learn something" This face - filled with wisdom and years, speaks a powerfull message. It's a powerfull photo!

    Running water 7

There is something about the foreground, that is the water - it's blackness, allmost like a slate marbel top, and, alittle further, the whiteness or effervescence. Interesting facets to an otherwise simple yet compelling scene.

"...or suggestions as to how it can be improved upon..." Well Gordon B, how does one "improve" upon a spur-of-the-moment grab shot like this? You see it - you take it. Quick, simple. It's gone in a nano-second. It's not a flower. It's not a landscape.

You "experts" with your hyper-criticism, nitpicking this/that/etc. Why don't you all go OUT of the house on a miserably cold winter day and still come up with something like this - you couldn't ! This is a very good photo. It does alot. Tells alot. Makes you feel something. The man having to make his way speaks of endurance.

    Autumn in Poland

Great photo except for just one element - the first tree. It stands apart from the others in that it's not bathed in fog, you could've zoomed-in on the subsequent ones via telephoto. But of course as sometimes the case, it might've not been possible. To understand why one would have had to be there. Nevertheless, I never gave a thought about autumn photography in overcast foggy conditions, but now I do!

There exists those rare photos which tell a great deal about the life of a person(s) in just 1 shot. This is one of those. Outstanding.
