I carry my 30D on my motorcycle for all of my biker event photos. My 5DM1 stays in the studio.

Another vote for Smugmug

+1 for Vistaprint. Very cheap prices. I've got cards, tee-shirts, and signs from them. The only thing that drives me crazy about them is the constant spam emails from them.

I bought a "stale" 5D MKI and another lens with the money I saved.

Count a third vote for sandbags. Saved my butt many times.

In a studio environment, one transmitter and one receiver should be fine. Set the other lights for optical slave. Line of sight shouldn't be an issue unless your receiver light is set to a very low power and not aimed toward the subject. I mostly set my fill light to trigger the others since I set it further back from the subject and all the other lights can see it.

As for using an on-camera flash, make sure it's not set to TTL or whatever. Set it to manual or the pre-flash will set off your studio lights and unless they are very fast at recharging, they won't flash when the camera flashes again and your photo will be very under exposed.

To bad you're not in the Central Ohio area. I'd give you one of mine. I'm tired of them and they scare the hell out of the grand kids. ;-)

I may be wrong but I think Photo.net has been around close to 20 years.

Most of the bigger companies have custom cameras. I know the one my wife used when she worked at Lifetouch did a lot of stuff. They were just switching over to digital at that time. Here's one of them:

SmugMug is the same. Customer crops during checkout.

Here's a link I found here that might help but it needs 3 lights:

I guess I should have asked if it was a legal question or not..
Will they work? - Yes
Is it legal? - Probably not

As long as the freq between the transmitter and receiver are the same, they will work.

If the light with the receiver on it fires and the slave lights see it, then yes, they will fire.

I'll have to agree with Matt also. It does seem a little strange someone would sign up here and post this type of message as their first post.

You might look at SmugMug. I've used them for a few years and have been very happy with their service. It was great when I sold most everything online but now days I just don't sell enough online anymore to justify the cost of any of them. I'm just going to build my own gallery on my main site for display only. Sales will be handled through my studio.

For $1,000 you could buy 10 2TB USB drives on Amazon.
Get 2 drives and keep one in a safety deposit box. Swap them out weekly or monthly depending on how much you need. Plus, it's a lot faster than up and downloading all that data to an online service.

Just my $0.02

The bright-field shot looks good. Nice border around the bottle. Looks a little tilted but it's New Years' Eve so that may just be me.. ;-)

I second the advice on - Light: Science and Magic. There is a whole section about glass, bright-field, and dark-field.
If this works, here's some photos I did for school.
Here's one I did for school using dark-field and a home made snoot for the label on the bottle.

With my 5D, I use 50 ISO in the studio. 100-200 when I'm doing biker shoots since they are mostly outside. If I have to hit a bar or two during the run, I go to 200-400 and a flash. I try not to go higher unless I really have to. The biker shots end up as B&W and color. The B&W I sell and the color ones go to a biker magazine.

Candlelight Vigil Photography'ing tonight

One thing about a candlelight vigil is most of the time people aren't moving much. You should try all kinds of settings from wide open, high ISO to a tri-pod and a slow shutter. You may get some great effects.
Good luck
