Thanks a lot martin. I should try to influence the lab to give me tiff or psd files instead of jpeg. That was very helpful.

Thank you Yann and Paul. Now I know exactly how to take care of it. The best is just to click photos regularly and nothing will go wrong. But guys, how do I clean my lens from outside? I mean, after exposures, specially if i'm on a sandy day or on a sea shore, sand/saline moisture can collect on the lens and I dont think thats a good idea. So what cloth/chemical/spray or something that I can use as a regular cleaning of the exterior of the lens without scratching it?

Thank you Robert. It was of great help. So even after scanning I suppose, as I do at present, I can go ahead and adjust the contrast and color level in photoshop to my desire. I understand there is no way around it if I get the scans done commercially.

I have experienced that when I give the slides to scan or specially negatives,
the color tone changes from the ones you can get on print. Most of the times i
have seen that the contrast reduces. what is the best way to make a digital copy
of slides/negatives?

Hey, thanks for all you responses. Yann has said about the oil leakage which means it needs to be oiled; right? If so, how often and how would you know that the camera blades would need to be oiled? This camera was not in use for may be a decade before i got it back to life and it is working well without any botheration. How can I be sure that there is no fungus or any problems? The photos come great though...

I have a pretty old yashika 124G MAT and am getting great photos. I am worried
about the maintenance of this camera. Can anyone suggest me the things I need to
keep in mind so that the camera lasts longer? What are the type of attention
that this camera needs?
