This is beautiful rendition Isabelle, good decision to go black n white. I wonder though if the clouds could have received a better treatment to get a bit more contrast (?) . A bit of details on the foreground with focus stacking would have helped as well IMHO. All in all the frame contains good amount of details to dwell upon and the composition holds it own. Excellent :)

  1. You have managed to capture the colours, details and beauty of this place beautifully Yavuz. I am surprised that you were able to capture the people without blur as it seems that there wasn't enough light for all of this. Stunning work.

  2. You have managed to somehow convey the softness of the flower itself! Delicate composition with deft DOF selection combined with pleasant soft lighting. The bokeh BTW is divine, so tender so light, so soft. I could stare at this picture for a looong time, fantastic.  Viel Gruss.

  3. The frothing bubbling white water seems to have just met its match with this bunch of lively lovely ladies. The setting and the decision to include the white water and green background transports this picture to another level. Very captivating.

This is a picture that depicts a fantastic expanse! The lighting is perfect and details are abundant. Would have looked even better if there a striking point of focus, like a red car on the undulating road.

You have managed to render an excellent macro shot with a superb artistic twist Hasan, which in my book requires creativity and patience. Lets start from the leaf, twisted, backlit, textured and dry, it adds so much to this composition. I wish though, the tip of the leaf were visible as well. The DOF is perfect, rendering most of the leaf sharp including its base, very nice touch. The line of highlight that runs on the bottom edge of the leaf enhances the twist. The caterpillar is sharp, detailed and very colourful (I suspect that is not enjoying the ride on the dry leaf, as they normally prefer fresh green ones to eat). The bokeh is almost perfect in terms of colour, nicely transitioning from brown to green balancing/complementing the leaf and the caterpillar. The smoothness of the blur could have been a bit better as I can see that in at least 3 or 4 places there are hexagonal blobs indicating you are using a lens with a 6 bladed diaphragm. You, as an artist have managed to pull the best of what the lens can deliver :) . Lastly the right bottom of the picture might need a slight boost as it is IMHO drawing attention. Given the excellent composition, artistic touch and details, these are but minor niggles. This picture goes straight into my favourite macro pictures tags. Thank you for sharing and my compliments on this beautiful picture.

  4. This is a very stark picture and is likely to haunt viewers, very powerful, very genuine. The details are crisp and the timing is perfect. The background pile of sticks are a bit of a distraction, but the man's eyes are enough to keep the integrity of the image. The puff(s) of smoke only adds to the strong emotion this picture generates. The eyes are absolutely haunting. Fantastic picture, despite minor niggles. My compliments Chandrasekhar.

  5. Your skill at manipulating the details and presenting them in B/W is commendable Doug. This picture extrudes that superb processing quality, excellent composition, except for shall I say, minor niggles. The tree on the left jutting out of the frame is leading my eye out and away from the picture. The second is the non-inclusion of the entire ellipse at the bottom left corner. Other than those minor details, the picture is very good. The treatment of the Sky/clouds is exemplary so is the depth and scope. The POV is brilliant as well.

Another superb picture from you Stan, executed to perfection. Starting of from the choice of the frame to the grain, this is beautiful. Looking at this picture, I believe the more I try to describe it, the more I limit it. As you have aptly put, its a simple life, lets enjoy it. Beautiful creation.

  6. You have managed to capture the old with all its wrinkles, texture, pattern, colour in all its glory John. Very evocative picture in that it allows the viewer to mull upon the peeling paint and saturated colours to find a pattern where seemingly there is none. The composition and tonality has been handled very well. This picture is indeed a story teller.

    BRIDGELIKE

This is uniquely moody picture which challenges the viewer to reflect plenty. You have managed to infuse enough fine-art grain in the entire frame to make it sublime and interesting. The eye first goes to the bright spot/area in the  sky marvels at the texture and grain and slowly descends on the dark yet crisp details of the bridge. While the eye meanders around the mind ponders at the intention of the picture, the loneliness of the bridge (no people on it), whether it is in use? are there still people using the bridge to connect with each other, so on and so forth. very thoughtful, although I would love to see what the effect would be if there was human element...

Excellent concept and processing Andrei. I admire the way you have framed the structure in layers of foliage and street lights. It almost looks like you created the elements to suit the building. The composition, post-processing and tonality is top-notch. One element that is (for me) making this a bit 2-dimensional is the sky, I texture of the sky somehow reminds me textured paper which immediately brings me back to reality from the world the rest of the picture created. Making it texture-less or black (but somehow keeping the separation between the roof-tops) IMHO might help. Apart from that one small quibble, this a picture I could gaze for long.. just reflecting. very nice :)

The rules of photography says that the horizon line should not be near

the middle of the photo. In this extreme wide angle, I would like to

challenge that rule. Let me know you take. Thanks for your time.

  7. Superb perspective there Mustafa. Although the highlights on the right edge seem to have blown out the photo holds its own when it comes to symmetry, details and its unique point of view. Well done and thanks for sharing.

This picture displays perfect symmetry and harmony Doug, its almost like it is mirrored ! I presume this is HDR and very pleased that the colours are not made OTT. The contrast and the details strike a superb balance as well. I wonder how this picture would look if you added a human in the picture, say a lady in white (which offers a nice contrast to the brown furniture) kneeling/sitting in one of the benches. All in all a very pleasing image.

The B/W conversion is spot on! You have managed to capture the delicate details that would go amiss in colour. Composition is commendable and so is the lighting. Perfect in my view.
