Very emotive; normally when you transcend stairs upward the feeling is bright. Somehow this makes me feel like I am climbing up into a basement filled with uncertainty -

My attempt to thank a couple of my favorite local places, our public library and a local historical county park, who are doing their best at maintaining service to the public during these Covid-19 times without being able to fully open their doors. -
The limbs of the model and the roots of the tree have a nice symbiotic flow together -
Very emotive melancholy capture; black and white adds to the mood. Most shots like this are with the subject smiling, and it just destroys their true social predicament with a facade. This is a rare National Geographic type capture where the eyes, mouth, and other facial expressions tell a story by themselves of the hardship this poor child should not have to endure. -
The frigid faery: When her soul warmed to let others touch it, be it the warm ember of friends and family, or the fire of a lover, she feared a threatening control. Once of human kind where by nature lives weave together and interdepend, she abandoned her past by wishing herself of the being of faery in a winter’s night forest after a fight with her mortal love. The malevolent black faeries that hold stealth in the dark tree branches above quickly granted this human her wish in return for a breath of drunken pleasure each took from her soul of the human love it contained while granting her entry into their world. In the world of faery she is now known as the frigid faery. Her wish became her curse. Every time she attempts to love another, she only feels the anxiety the black faeries replaced it with when drinking her soul. There might be a little bit of all of us in her. -

The Faery of unwanted fire: It warms her heart to burn the humans from her forest. The forest will be reborn, the unwanted guests will not. You will find her influence in the silver coin dropped at a roadside fireworks vendor to be found by the malevolent teenage kin of a family from the city headed for the weekend to a Northern California or Oregon forest during the dry season. A new tattoo donned on her shoulder speaks to her vindictiveness.
