1.
I formatted my CF card and lost all my images from a recent trip because I thought I had already uploaded them to my computer when I hadn't. I didn't realise the images were not on my computer for almost a fortnight so continued to shoot on that same card and formatted it another couple of times.

I have tried using a program called PhotoRescue and it is able to recover 988 images but only around 30-40 of those are from the set that I need. The software wants $30 to register the program in order to save them. I have no qualms about paying the $30 but, before I do, I am wondering if there are any other programs you guys may be aware of that could possibly dig a little deeper and rescue more images.

PhotoRescue does seem like a decent little program and takes a good 2 or 3 hours to fully scan the card. I also tried the free program called Recuva but it was hopeless and found next to nothing.

 2.
Firstly, I am truly embarrassed to have to ask this question. I consider myself to be a very experienced photographer and rarely have trouble with any part of the techniques required. However, I very rarely use flash. In fact, I use it so rarely that I literally have no idea where I put my 580EX... I'll have to start looking for it soon.

Anyway, I have the unfortunate task of photographing a friend's wedding soon... a task I always dread. For this wedding and location I am going to need to use fill in flash quite a lot (indoors and outdoors). Whilst I am perfectly comfortable using flash as the main source of light indoors, I have little experience of fill-in.

What I need to know is the ideal setting to have the 580 on so that I can get decent fill-in flash results in most lighting conditions, especially outdoors in bright light. I am guessing I will need to put it into high speed sync mode so that it will work at all shutter speeds. Obviously this will be essential when shooting with a wide aperture in bright light.

Any simple tips or guidance you wedding snappers can offer?

Obviously I am going to have an hour or so practicing with fill-in flash before the big day but would like some input and to know of any possible pitfalls to help me out.
:-)

 3.
Hi folks,

I've just finished my first batch of C41 processing using the Tetenal 1 litre kit. See here for kit details: http://www.tetenal.com/index_c.htm?AKT=01120020002000100000&L=UK

If I were to buy the 5 litre kit next time and mix it up in batches of 1 litre at a time do you think the remaining concentrates will have a decent shelf life i.e. 1 to 2 years? Obviously I will expel as much oxygen from the bottles as possible either by using nitrogen or by holding a flame in the neck of the bottle before sealing (note to self: check for volatility of solutions first!)

 4.
I am due to collect my "new" CPE-2 with lift this weekend and am looking forward to developing some C41 films with it. I've done plenty of B&W home processing but never C41. Do any of you have any tips before I mess up my first film? I will be using the Tetenal C41 1L kit seen here: http://www.firstcall-photographic.co.uk/products/616/tetenal-colortec-c-41-rapid-negative-kit-1-litre
