Hi folks I've just acquired an "as new" Marrutt film drying cabinet and am excited to try it out. Do any of you have any experience with drying cabinets? I don't want to melt my negatives and am wondering what sort of temperature and duration I should be using to dry my films. Naturally I can do my own testing but I'd prefer to hear first hand from someone who has used one before.

Gorgeous shots. The 12-100mm is an amazing lens. I particularly love the bokeh it produces at the wide end. It really is quite remarkable.

It all depends on what you want the camera for. For me, the M-D gives the most enjoyable shooting experience. When you get back home all you want to do is download your photos to see what you managed to capture, just like waiting for a roll of film to come back from the lab. A camera with an LCD doesn't give that enjoyment, you know what you've captured as soon as you take your finger off the shutter. If I was buying a Leica M for paid work or as my one and only camera I would probably go for the M10. But for something to give me the most pleasure I would definitely get the M-D.

Sorry for the late reply. My friend bought a brand new M-D recently and I absolutely love it. So does he! Advantages over standard M262: Better battery life Easier and more convenient to change ISO Gives an all consuming shooting experience. Just like shooting film. Wonderfully enjoyable. You never miss a shot because you were chimping at the screen Looks gorgeous Disadvantages: Will only shoot DNG (no jpeg option) Changing date/time for EXIF is a challenge (user manual essential). User manual also essential when cleaning sensor. Updating firmware is not as easy without an LCD screen You cannot manually select lenses so 6-bit coded wide angle lenses are essential.

My AE prism seems to be a couple of stops off on exposure most of the time (underexposing). I've tried it with different film backs and lenses so I am guessing it's the meter in the prism itself that is faulty. Is this a known problem and is there an easy fix?

<p>Wow, that actually looks relatively easy. No worse than replacing the screen on an iPhone which I've done many times.</p>

<p>If you developed the film at 13c using the development time for 20c the negatives will be very underdeveloped. Best to do it at 20c. At 13c you'll need to increase the developing time considerably. </p>

<p>I'm afraid you're going to need a new camera. Those marks are either fungus growing underneath the anti-aliasing filter that sits above the sensor or some sort of adhesive or coating breaking down. No amount of cleaning will help.</p>

<p>My guess is also a processing fault. Doesn't look anything like moisture. Use a different lab.</p>

<p>The outer AF points on the 5D2 are a joke. They are so bad that I never use them. They're nowhere near accurate enough for wide aperture lenses. </p> <p>I think the 5D3 will be far superior. Even for portraiture and fashion work, accurate outer AF points make a huge difference on lenses like the 35mm f/1.4 to keep those subtle movements in check.</p>
