  1. Did you take this just this past Sunday? Reason I ask, I took the same shot of her last Sunday at Bethesda Fountain. After looking at your bio, I might actually have you in the background when I photographed her.

  2. Great Tone, composition and B&W treatment.

I particularly like the lightness on the stairs about 6-8 steps below her. See that highlight in the steps? It almost mimicks her vail.

    Another good one John.

I like the toning of the b&w conversion. The DOF of the younger one was a good choice as well. Simply wonderful.

Pare ganda naman ng kuha. Nakaka sindak chong.

Sige pare, ingat sila sa iyo.

Love the lighting and the colors. Composition is good as well. I like the semi-diagonals created by the bamboo.

I see this lake being photographed a lot lately. Lester Garcia did a whole thing on this, check him out in photo.net.

    Very quiet..

Even with the horizon almost in the center, I think it works for this photo. B&W treatment is spectacular, lots of different tones on this. Looks like a slow shutter speed as well.

I read your Bio, I think you would understand what i'm saying below.

This is something I would like to put next to my computer at work.

When the markets are in chaos and I can't make sense of the next trade and my traders are looking at me for guidance, this is the photo I would like to look at even for just a minute or two to collect my thoughts before I go back to the trading floor.

Very Very Very nice capture in my opinion.

  3. I would've been arrested if I took a photo of any military installation as well.

Ballsy..... get it? I crack myself up sometimes.

Anyway, Ditto regarding the B/W conversion and composition. Nice shot.

  4. I like the way my eye travelled on this photo. First it went to the flower probably because it's the brightest, then went to the reflection on the fish bowl? then down to her eye lids.  Love the DOF as well.

Jeeez John this one is fantastic capture. I love the fact the eyes are tack sharp. At first I thought I saw a catch light but realized I was looking at the reflection of you guys in her eyes. Nice B&W conversion as well. I don't mind the light on the left hand side (right of her face). Your version makes her skin silky smooth as the darker version makes her skin a bit textured.

Although...... there is quite a bit of lens distortion on the left and topside of the photo...... JUST KIDDDING!!!

    Great shot.

  5. I like the shadows, the composition and the texture of the foreground.

Once again, I'm looking at photos at work so the I'm not too sure if what I'm seeing is due to the low grade monitor. That being said, looking at this, the sky could've been punched up a tiny little bit. Probably get rid of the blue haze by the mountains.

It's a great shot though, can't wait to get home and see it for how it really is.

  6. I like the composition a lot. The movement, the DOF and the colors.

The exposure though looks a bit borderline blown out the bottom right hand side. ALTHOUGH.... it may be my screen as I'm looking at this photo at work.

    Nice work. Thanks for sharing.

  7. Great Shot Ray. Composition, lighting, and DOF all come together on this one. My question is where did you take this shot from? The seaport? Or past the fish markets? Great perspective too.

As with the above, great light, composition and exposure. All ties in to create this wonderful photo.

Jeeezzz John..... is there anything you can't shoot?!?!?!

Composition is superb. I think it's due to my work monitor but I think the focus is a tiny bit off...... I think it's my work monitor though. Thanks for sharing.
