<p >All new photo equipment I buy comes from a local photo store (L.L.Lozeau in Montreal, Canada). They are the Adorama and B&H of local stores here in Montreal. I go there for the pricing, knowledge, friendly service, and a nice chat with fellow photographers from both sides of the counter.</p>
<p >But second hand equipment comes from friends or Internet store like KEH who I trust whole hearthedly. It is very difficult to find used 35mm film or good DSLR cameras and accessories around here.</p>

<p>Orville, John, Raymond: Thanks for your comments.<br>
I understand that these cameras are best suited for portrait, street or landscape photography. I currently mostly do wildlife/bird and landscape photography, and sometimes touch on street and macro with my SLRs/DSLRs.<br>
What are the strongest arguments (besides the great classic look) toward range finders in general and the R3M/Heliar 50/2 combo in particular.<br>
TIA Dan</p>

<p>Hi all,<br>
A few hours ago, I met her in a downtown store window. Sitting in her commemorative presentation box with the Heliar 50/2 collapsible lens. The price asked $960 $CA. I think i'm in love.<br>
This would be my first rangefinder (I already own 3 SLRs and 3 DSLRs and a few P&S) and I wish I could have your opinion on this camera kit. I would definitely not invest in a Leica body but this one... I might just do.<br>
TIA, Dan</p>

Try this one! Known bug between one of the older versions and Leopard (10.5.X)</p>

<p>Also, any serious seller of telescope equipment will have flashlights for reading maps without messing your night vision.<br>

<p>Same here, but by reloading the page, some times shows up some time does not. So its not part of the static part of the home page but must be part of the ads that cycle every so often. Got this from both Safari/OSX and IE/WinXP environment.<br>
On IE/WinXP, AVG shows a threat detected!:<br>
File name: www.fjeking.com/seas/index.php?id=SCL<br>
Threat name: Virus Found JS/Download.Agent<br>
Hope this helps!</p>

Here I have no real statistics on this but it seems to me that using 2 freshly charged batteries in the HLD-4 on the E-3 will hardly get me more
photographs then with 1 freshly charged battery directly in the camera. It seems to me I get way more photographs with two batteries, one at a time in
the camera than with both in the HLD-4.
I know about the firmware upgrade that was supposed to address a too early warning about low battery level. And I installed it. Yet what still looks like
a early warning often turns out to be real. The camera will sometimes work a little more if I switch the order of the batteries in the HLD-4. So I get the
impression that the HLD-4 wastes battery power.
Anyone else with this type of behaviour with the HLD-4?
Thanks in advance, dan

I started out with the E-500 and kit lenses for the great price, small size and dust removal feature. Moved up to E-510 (kept E-500)
and some more lenses. Now own E-3 (still kept E-500 and E-510) and 6 Zuiko Digital lenses, 2 Sigma 4/3 and 1 OM lenses and
could not be more happy.

Apparently, this little trick only works if you have an iPhoto library, I got a message to that effect since I don't currently use
iPhoto. Will try this later on. Thanks

Hi John,
According to this Olympus Web Site, Lexar and Sandisk CF cards up to 4GB or 2GB (dependant on speed specs)

That's what I see too at 0:12.

Hi again Harry,
Make sure the cable is secured at both ends, a loose connection could make the device act erratically.
-
Hi Harry,
I think the message you get from OS X is that you didn't eject the card (right click on card in finder or on the desktop and
choose EJECT) before physically remoing it from the reader.
Although this step was not required but preferred under WINDOWS, it is required under OS X. Ejecting the card makes sure
that not programs are still using it before your actually remove the card from the reader.
OS X is pretty much aware of almost all USB and FireWire devices commonly available on the market. And new devices will
come with drivers if necessary. You don't need to dedicate any such devices to any one machine to have them work
correctly.
As for your final question, I have both PC and MAC here, and since I got the MAC, its been running 24/7 365 days/year, the
PC runs about 15 minutes a week for a proprietary piece of software I use at work. My MAC is a G5 PPC and therefore
does not run WINDOWS.
Have a nice day! Dan

Is it only me, but I've seen a change in the TRP lately that I really like.
I usually choose Category:all (No Nudes), but decided to test the TRP for category:all. Was pleasantly surprised to see that only the 166th
photograph presented a hint of sexuality and the 215th was the first to actually show a pair of breasts.
It used to be that almost only nudes would get top ranking not so long ago, hence one of the reason to introduce All (no nudes). Don't get me
wrong, It's not that I dislike nudes, but I like the fact that more and more, people seem to appreciate other genres. Enough anyway to critique
and rate other photos more favourably.
What do you think?

Good Stuff... Oh and don't sell yourself short about your looks.

Hi Ed,
Look here my friend:

The manual is in two parts and can be downloaded from this page.
Have fun

Agree with David, sounds more like autofocus assist (when its too dark, flash helps illuminate the scene for autofocus to
perform correctly).
Either way, using an external flash would prevent that, as most modern flash like the FL36/36R or FL50/50R have barely visible
infra-red like lighting to help out autofocus instead of using the bright flash to do the same.

Size and weight wise I would lean toward an Olympus E-410 or E-420 for a 10 year old's hands.

Hi Brian,
I too own both. (Actually, I own three as the E-3 and E-510 don't use the same cable remote but the same wireless one).
I use the cable ones more often as they are mostly used while i'm behind the camera, and I just want to prevent movement.
And it is difficult to use the wireless one that way without hitting either the tripod or camera.
The wireless remote I use when the camera/s is/are setup somewhere near an animal path and I don't want to or can't be
next to the cameras. Or for self portraits with friends and/or family.

The new white/color-bodied cameras...love 'em or hate 'em?
