    Front Doors

I like it...with the front door just slightly ajar it grabs my attention as a viewer, and makes me want to peer inside to see what else is there...kind of 'what secret lays beyond these doors' ...and the well lit arches inside also help keep my attention.

    Nice image

as an artistic value it's quite a good shot - however, within that artistic licence it has become a powerful statement bordering on sexual abuse. As a photographer I was once asked to capture a similar image but cancelled the shoot when the client mentioned she was going to similarly sew in rivets and lace up her genital area. This presented me as the photographer with a question - would I be willing to take this sexual abuse on board because I am the one actually capturing and transmitting this kind of image of a woman. Out of respect for women, and for my self I cancelled the shoot. I am not here to lecture you on moral values, but I am here as an invitee to critique with my honest feedback - and these words are exactly how I feel.
  1. I don't think it's very hot at all. Rather, it's just 'suggestive'. I kind of like the perspective which is quite unusual, more of a view from an angle the model is looking from - which makes it unique, and I like the subdued lighting and highlights and I like the tone and the texture. I think you have captured a good image Dag
  2. This is a nice image Paul. I like the contrast between the skin tone and tree, and realise how hard it is to capture this. The lack of facial identity doesn't bother me, because I like the small amount of arms that you have presented, but the smiling lips might detract some viewers from the 'flow' of the image. Great even lighting, and i'd love to see more of your nude work, because some of your landscape work is absolutely magnificent.

In answer to your question - to get her arms to blend in with the tree, then they need to be within the same tonal range and texture as the tree. I usually cover the model in mud to get that desired effect, or add a lot of digital noise to the model's skin tone.
