  1. have we been down this corridor before but from a slightly different angle not showing the right hand wall? i remember those chairs. to be honest, i prefer this with the facing wall doors balancing not only the curve of the paintings, but complimenting the squareness of the chairs. superb light. very nice work. regards, J.K.
  2. i where the four corners of the floor meet in the frame joining the quadrants together. superb angle of capture with this piece. also the light is coming from a geometrical angle very sympathetic to the balance of the floor patterns. love this one a lot. take care, J.K.

6/6 anon. the only thing that distracts from being nearly perfect for me is the cropped rear tire. otherwise the angle combined with the super pan work makes this an above average shot. regards, J.K.

    One from a Bouquet

the good things first: straight up great light and color. shadows are very well done too. problems i see are: the exposure is a touch hot on the right side of the flower. crop is a little tight at the top. other than that this is very well balanced with the FG leaf blurred then the blossom sharp and then another similiar shaped leaf behind (which could be a little more blurred). regards, J.K.
  3. very difficult to chose between the H and V versions, but this one seems to me to be the better of the two. while the landscape version show the full bridge it somehow lacks the compositional tension that this vertical has. also like the closer look at the rock and the horizon line helps too. beautiful colors, the blue water against the golden light on the rocks with a splash of green. very nice work my friend. regards, J.K.
  4. beyond the beauty of the color and composition, what makes this shot special to me is the guy fishing on the rock taking in this peaceful scene. love the inclusion of the FG. this is so well balanced from top to bottom. really a grand capture. regards, J.K.

lovely. the deep dark red is great for this mostly neutral gray subject. very handsome portrait work. nice catchlight in eye. well done.

p.s. your english is much better than my dutch!!! in english when light goes from light to dark we call that a gradient. take care, J.K.

ah yes, looks good enough to eat. apricot for me please. i think the fruit filling adds the needed density and flavor to this shot. there are no really good bakery shoppes here :-( take care, J.K.

    "Old Memories"

forgive the coming pun--- super low key shot. this has a quality similiar to old Tri-X film. excellent selection of surface to shoot on adding nice grainy structure (and despite what some digital purists believe, grain can be a GOOD thing.) i like how one key is clear and seperate and the rest are a jumble much like the way memories are. ciao, J.K.

your creative seperation of images is aesthetically very pleasing. you are able to combine precision geometry with a slight offset within each frame. its one of those "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts" situation. strong work. regards, J.K.

    Family

hey buddy, one good looking family. your nephew on the right always has that shy "i don't want my picture taken" look. and we know who the ham is in the middle! and the little guy behind has that "hey, i'm here too" look. great work. caught this one anonymously 7/7. cheers, J.K.

a perfect street diptych. the woman and the man in the same place but in two different worlds. excellent balance between the two. nice tones and a pleasing amount of grain. well done. 6/6 anon. regards, J.K.

beautiful architectural landscape. the rise of the buildings on the hillside with the winding road curving around them is well balanced. the earthen tones from the building stones with minor splashes of color works nicely against the plush greenery. great work. 6/6 anon. regards, J.K.
