j.k._york 0 Posted August 15, 2007 ah yes, looks good enough to eat. apricot for me please. i think the fruit filling adds the needed density and flavor to this shot. there are no really good bakery shoppes here :-( take care, J.K. Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted August 17, 2007 So you seem to know some Yiddish expressions. Do you know the meaning of "An emese yidishe krechtz"? That's the sound I made when I sat down and took a look at these beauties. The details are great. I must admit that I prefer the apricot. But have you ever had chocolate chip hamantashen? They are delights. Thank you for feeding my eyes and soul tonight. You put a smile on my face, for they are perfectly done. Du bist a zisser! Well, one's my limit. I'm off to get some thick Turkish coffee to have with my meal. A groisen, sheynem dank! Donna (P.S. Wanted to "tip" you with a 7/7 for my meal, but the system....) Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted August 17, 2007 No "tip" is necessary. A smile will suffice in this case. Hey Donna, you really blew me out with those expressions. This is out of my league. "An emese yidishe kretz" emese is Hungarian for mother, right? so something with Jewish mother? "Du bist a zisser" sounds German to me. "You are a teaser?" Am I close? and "A groisen, sheynem dank" Could that mean "until later, thanks...?" What a mind teaser you are. Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted February 27, 2008 Hey Adan--it's heading toward Purim. I decided to give up all sweets (except for sugar in my coffee) for one year-- as a challenge. Decided I want to run the New York Marathon (if I can get into the lottery of being accepted to run) the fall after this one with my brother-in-law), so as of this AM--no sweets. I'll have to rely on your pics. So make them good!!!!!!!! Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted February 27, 2008 I'll try my best Donna. A great sacrifice I must say. Good luck on the marathon. Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted February 27, 2008 Didn't say I was becoming a monk though-- will still have port wine and such lol! The compliment here though, of course, is aimed at your increasingly wonderful photography. : ) Thanks for the good luck. Link to comment
