Amazing image. The selective focus is beautiful. Way to spot this gem of a composition.

Thank you again Heather for the comments.
I can tell from your impressions that I was successful in what I wanted out of this image. You are sooo right that photography is all about telling a story and capturing emotion... not "perfection" in a technical regard. That is why I love to use a Holga camera for images like this, which really limits what can be achieved technically, but opens up endless possibilities in capturing the moment and mood of a composition.
Thank you,
Mike

wow... thank you Heather for that kind and insightful critique. This happens to be one of my personal favourite photos, but not one that anyone (until now) cared to notice. I think it came off well, and really captured the personality of the boatbuilder and the feel and story of that shipyard. It's gratifying to know that it is also appreciated by you :-)
Warm regards,
Mike

The roads to nowhere always lead to the best places :-)
Wonderful long exposure really compliments this composition. Beautifully framed.

Very nice composition with the details of the foreground landscape complimenting the startrails and subtle aurora perfectly.

Wow... what a great study in color... it is so intense and yet still somehow subtle. The selective focus is perfect.

I don't know anything about "stacking images", but the result is stunning. Great capture and beautifully framed.

I like it as well. I know that some people hate this effect that comes from mirror lenses, but if used creatively, I think it works very well.
Nice photo

Wow... that color, and especially the light, is so intense it just pulls the viewer into the composition. That road also helps to add depth and is placed perfectly.
Great photograph.

Your photos are always so distictive... I always know when it's one of yours :-) Makes me long for winter which is just around the corner now.

How you find these compositions and then express them so full of elegance and grace is always astounding to me. I wish someday to see as you do.
Thank you as always for sharing your world,... wow

If Andy Goldsworthy worked with nudes...
Beautiful work.

Amazingly elegant in its simplicity. It doesn't get much better than this... the lines, shapes, negative space, movement, depth, light and perfect exposure. Wow
