    Why hello there

Thanks for sharing... If this were my photo I would selectively blur the background, in particular the very visible netting/fence/cage... This will give it a more natural look... As I said, this is just my opinion, take it for what it's worth :-) (and it's not worth very much)

Photo taken from the top of a tall observation tower overlooking a

local nature park... It provides some unique flight shot

opportunities, as a lot of times the birds are at or below eye-level.

I like it... If this were my image I'd clone out the wires and other elements that aren't natural... Basically just leave the nest and bird. That's just me though, it's still a nice image either way.

    Great Horned Owl

          2

This is a young great horned owl that was still on the nest and

being fed by its parents as of this past weekend. I expect that mom

and dad will be pushing him/her out of the nest sometime soon...

Taken at Loxahatchee NWR in Palm Beach County, FL on March 17, 2007.

Randy, as I stated in my previous post "on my monitor" it appeared to be over exposed. I was just giving an honest assessment of what I saw. When I look at it on my monitor at work (which has been calibrated) I now see that indeed it is not overexposed.

Randy, these birds are very tough to exposure properly. On my monitor the whites are overexposed. When I'm photographing these birds in harsh light (it appears the light was rather harsh when this was taken) I purposefully error on the side of slightly underexposing rather than over exposing... It's almost impossible to bring out natural looking detail in overexposed highlights, however underexposed highlights can be fixed and made to look excellent... If you'd like to see an example of what I'm talking about just let me know!
