I'll say www.backdropoutlet.com again. They have many props and some clearance stuff too.

Look for a reprographics shop in your area or sign screenprinting shop.

Well, they're at least 11x14 and some 16x20. To scan them and stitch them would be too much work for the short time I have with them.

I have a colleague who only shoots film and needs to submit a LOT of her work to
a gallery (or many galleries...I'm getting this info second hand) on disk. I'm
very adept at shooting printed images to be submitted by non-digital folk. My
question is on pricing. I usually do this for friends on the cheap and there is
a major amount of prints I need to shoot here. Does anybody here do this sort of
thing on digital (no slide processing) and can let me in on you pricing per
print? or should I just do it hourly? We're talking about 100 or so prints. Thanks!

I had it custom profiled for my 7800 using the watercolor paper setting in the printer driver. The colors are amazing and getting a lot of referrals from galleries. For using the advanced B&W feature on Epson, I switch to the premium glossy paper profile and let the printer driver handle the profile.

The Advanced B&W option on the Epson driver is wonderful with lots of control. I have Colorburst with my Epson 7800 but never use it. If I'm printing out a lot of images for a client, I might use it to free up Photoshop but rarely.

Try restaurant supply stores. If you're looking for those plastic stands to view both sides and stand up.

Buy a Holga with a Polaroid back. You won't be out too much money and you can always buy Fuji pack film if you decide you like it.

I disagree with the white walls (even though we're talking about floors.) I've found they become a reflector when I don't want one. I finally went with neutral grey walls and it works great.
For the floors, if it must be tiles, maybe a terracotta but stay away from high gloss anything.

If you mean flatten, a heavy book for a while works sometimes for me. I use bergger and it curls massively.

Accounts Receivable for a hotel...notice given to open a photog biz.

Deidre at B&W Photo Lab will as well as Photographic Traditions. B&W Photo is at 142 High St, Ste. 303. (In Portland)

I tend to agree with Pamela about having a laptop maybe with a big screen to have the parents pick out first. If you find a lot of them willing to buy, then next time you can go through the expense of having prints done first but consider the first time your market research.

Here in Maine, you register with the Secretary of State and any other states you will be doing business in.

I have the iPod Touch and I've heard it doesn't support "data storage." It will hold and display your jpgs through iTunes. The Epsons are great for dumping and viewing your photos. I have one of the smaller ones and love it. Long trips when I don't have my laptop, etc...

Those scanners cannot handle 4x5 but take a look at the new Microtek M1 or the one I have, the i900. I scan 8x10 and 4x5 on this and really like the results. I also scan with fluid, though. There is no glass in the way when using either of these for film.
-
I scan 8x10 trans often with fluid on my i900 and only got a line once that turned out to be dust. A little blower took care of that and all is good. You say lines (plural.) Do you have an example?

The Piazza del Duomo (spelled right?) with all the beautiful spires. Haven't been there in a while, but sure remember that! Also the floor of the indoor "mall" just to the left of the front of the Piazza, incredible tile floor.
I was young...thats all I remember.

Try Alien Skin Blow Up.

I assume you want to stretch your image to 24" and not just print the 18" and have it centered. Always do your re-sizing in Photoshop. You'll have much more control. When you go to your printer dialog box, choose roll paper and borderless and go down to "customize" for paper size. Put in 24" width and whatever height you made it after the re-size. Make sure you have the orientation of the paper as portrait unless you rotate the image in PS.

Thanks all. A few things to try before calling them.

I haven't uninstalled the actual scanner yet. I was thinking it's just a software problem because Windows detects it. The problem with troubleshooting with Lasersoft is I have no internet connection in the studio and have to be plugged in to the scanner to open Silverfast.
-
Wow, all these scanner questions under mine reminded me to ask this question: I
have a Microtek i900 and always have used Silverfast Ai as the operating
software. Recently I decided to upgrade Silverfast. Well, ever since then, it
does not find my scanner. Un-installed and re-installed Silverfast but to no
avail. Windows' built in scanner software sees it and will do a quick and dirty
scan but of course with no real control, so it's not the connection. Any help?
Thanks!
8x10 infrared
in Large Format
Posted
Anybody here shooting 8x10 infrared. Just now pulling it out of the fridge for a
shoot this weekend. I have a box of the Efke820 to try. With the lens I have,
had to get the Cokin holder and their filter. I usually shoot with a darker
filter but too small for this lens. Exposure comp with this R72 type filter?
Developers? Pyro with this film? Would love to hear views. Oh, yeah. Focusing?
