Bobbi posts some of hers on her blog, too :

She rocks :)
I've never heard of anyone getting a bad reputation for doing boudoir photos. I did one of
these a few weeks ago and it was really fun.
Good luck!

If you don't feel comfortable with them, don't shoot the wedding. Go with your gut instinct -
it's almost always right!
Good luck :)

Thanks guys! I haven't gotten the Jesh CD yet, so I can't say for sure if it's worth the price. I
loooove his work, though, so I'm really looking forward to playing with them :)

I loooove textures :) Maybe it's a trend that'll die down eventually, but it's fun to play.
Since you asked for examples, here's one I just did for an E-Session. There's more on my
blog from this session (at the bottom of the page now since it was a week or so ago) :

I just bought Jesh's texture CD which comes with tutorials and tips. There are also a lot of
great textures on this site : http://mayang.com/textures/

Photoshop has always been able to correct exposure mistakes, too. Lightroom does make it
simpler, though.
I can see where Steve thinks it might change the industry. But, then again, we all kind of
expected digital to change the industry. I think it'll stay pretty much the same.
-
Heeeeeey Steve! Was that last comment a comment on my Befores?? I said NO comment on
those! :) :) :)
-
I agree with Colleen ... Jesh's look is amazing. I think more and more couples will want "artsy"
photos that are less traditional.
Or maybe that's just what I'm HOPING for :) I heart Jesh.
That umbrella on the head thing is pretty funny. I saw a picture of that guy somewhere. At
least everyone in the photos you take will be smiling ('cause they're laughing at you!)

'Cause I've been using it all day and haven't launched Photoshop ONCE. This program ROCKS! I've been
SOOOOO much more productive today than ever before. Being able to copy and paste settings without
setting up and running actions ... being able to see before and afters so easy ... being able to add fill light
that actually looks like fill light. I'm lovin' it.
Don't comment on how horrible my images were in the BEFORES here ... I know, I know. I managed to
make 'em look pretty awesome, though :)
Soooo, are any of you using Lightroom ONLY? I think I might be ...

"Depending on the size of the wedding party there really are not more than about 100
shots during an entire day." - Dave Thielen

Not more than 100 shots the entire day????? Now that's just silly.

Okay, I had some free time tonight to play with Lightroom again. I sat down and imported all
my son's birthday party pictures from yesterday. There were 113 total. It took me about 20
minutes to edit ALL OF THEM and export them into a folder and a backup folder. That ROCKS.
Lightroom is gonna be a Photoshop KILLER (funny that Adobe killed itself!)
-
From what I've done in Lightroom so far, I love it, too. I haven't had a chance to really learn it
the way I know Photoshop, but I'm looking forward to using it more often. I second the
rave! :)

LOL, sorry about that ... poles, trees, WHATEVER! In _DSC2215.jpg the tree is coming right
out of the guys head. In _DSC2220.jpg it's coming out of the girl's head. There's a bunch
of those ... I find it really distracting. I'm super picky about stuff like, that, though. They
probably won't notice.
Another one ... _DSC2311_bw.jpg would be really cute, but that damn pole (this time it IS a
pole!) is on the left pulling my eye away from the couple. I would have taken a few steps
over to the left and shot them with a less-cluttered background.
I agree with Zofia on editing down the number shown. I only show the very best.
Good luck! :) Sarah

I think maybe some different lenses, bigger apertures and more interesting DOF would help
out. They all look like they were taken with a mid-range lens at F8. I'd suggest you get in
closer and pay close attention to backgrounds. A lot of them had distracting poles and stuff
behind the couple (like the ones of them hugging on the bridge).
Good luck! :) Sarah

I usually shoot around 1200 but I only give around 500. I'm pretty picky, though, and I try a
lot of different things knowing they might not work. I don't do any in-camera editing
(deleting) either.
Good luck :)

I get at least one email or MySpace message every day asking for advice. I always respond
nicely and try to help them out. I remember emailing people when I was first interested in
photography and nobody would ever write me back. I find it flattering and rewarding to be
able to help out some newbies :)

Oops, that was Jesh's blog (there's lots of great stuff on there, too). Here's his site : http://

I just let them interact and tell them to try to forget I'm there. Lots of snuggling, kissing,
gazing ... all that fun, lovey-dovey stuff.
I usually end up showing around 35-40 photos, but I'm kinda picky :)
For inspiration, look at Jesh de Rox's website. I looooove his couples/engagement shots ...

I think it's a great idea. I absolutely love polaroid pictures, though. They've got SO much
more character than a "real" picture. My fiance and I are doing the polaroid guest book at our
wedding in October :)

Both of Ni's are great! It's a KEEPER! :) :)
-
Glad you didn't take my post in a bad way Jeffrey. I thought about it later and came back to
make sure you weren't offended. :)
-
No no no no no to Jeffrey! Sorry Jeff, but I don't think $100 for a CD full of BAD photos gives
you a "nice profit." Those photos will only make you look bad. Not everyone understands that
even professionals take bad pics sometimes. Clients (and their family and friends) should
never get a chance to see (much less PRINT from a CD) the rejects!
Good luck Jenn :)
-
LOL :)
Good letter Ni!

Where are you Edsel? I wanna make sure I never move there :)

Yep, every session has a retainer fee that has to be paid before it goes on the calendar. For
smaller stuff, I usually require 50% and the remaining 50% due the day of the shoot.
