Hi Cindi
I`m an idiot too in the big digital world. I`m 33 and have a old classical traditional darkroom setup, no digital camera and won`t learn photoshoping.
-
-easier to develop and fix
-real big and sharp grain with accutance developers
-wider exposure latitude
-maybe old look
-better tonal range

Hi
If you use only classic emulsion B&W Films like Tri-x, hp5, fp4...etc. you don`t need any processor, manual development is the better choice, but with modern films like delta and t-max you need constant agitation and themperatur and the processor would be the better choice here.

Yes the scanner Fuji xerox is not really suitable to scan any photographic material.
Try or buy a flatbed scanner, they are cheap and do a better job.

Digital world have no Substances, everything exist virtually, like a simulation, without future. This is a very good question Michael, it is time to think about. Yes, there is a lot of difference between digital files and negatives, i can see them without a computer and everywhere in the world, not only in Europe or North-America, and I can reproduce them too. Yes, gold and diamonds are real like silver.
