<p>Yes, that really is swirly bokeh, and lots of it! I too find the colour ones just a bit distracting, but it works well on the B&W. Really interesting optic, and thanks for sharing your images of those lovely models...wonderful location too!</p>

<p>Wow, never seen one in the flesh, but have nothing but good reports...especially regarding the Ektar. You are very lucky to have one in such nice condition and we all look forward to some images.<br> Hope the weather is treating you well, Spring is really in the air here....really early!</p>

<p>I agree that they are a scary beast, but I do like your results, and the last shot of the swing has really pleasing oof areas.<br> I found that with mine if you put a heap of tension on the film when you are loading, the overlapping/spacing issues will sometimes disappear. Still, the wind on can be very cranky!<br> Thanks for sharing your Russian classic.</p>

The Zenits really could take great pics if you found a good one...agricultural sure, but tough as nails.<br> Students here bought them in the thousands, nothing better if you are a starving student living on one minute noodles! The Zenit was cheap enough to allow a pizza on friday night! </p>

<p>Of course you can't have too many! I do remember my retailing days when the Trips literally walked out the door...everyone loved them,and none ever seemed to go wrong. They have a bit of a cult following here, which means they are overpriced now! They look great with colourful leatherette.</p>

<p>Glad to see that you have acquired a Septon Bruce. I'm sure that you will like it, especially at those wider apertures. Voigtlander really did make some very fine optics, and the Ultron is right up with the best, and I think that the Septon is even a bit better. Prone to flare though, more so than the Ultron, but handled right it will give lovely results.<br> Unfortunately the Ultramatic was a casualty of the bean counters at Voigtlander, and the drop in quality of construction is obvious when put next to a Bessamatic. The Ultramatic is a lovely thing to look at though!<br> Look forward to seeing some more pics.</p>

<p>Nice work Rick, lovely tones and light as usual! The SRT series sort of didn't have much impact on me back in the day, but as time goes on I have far more respect for them.<br> The cameras are very nice to use, with better than average metering and bright finders. We all know how well those Rokkor lenses perform, and even though I haven't used any of their zooms, I can see by your pics that they are classy as well. The fact that Leitz chose Minolta to produce a couple of their zooms speaks volumes.<br> The really lovely XE series of cameras were another treasure from the brief Leitz/Minolta marriage. The XE1 was, in my opinion, the better camera between it and the Leica R3.<br> Glad you are liking the Foma film, I was just about to try some Foma paper...see how it goes. Keep warm!</p>

<p>Good to be re acquainted with an old friend. Your wide angles are certainly very Holger-esque! The Hi-Matic series are quite nice cameras, and Rokkor lenses are always a treat.<br> I presume that these images are with the lens wide open? Love the feeling of light in your last photo...makes you want to be there!</p>

<p>Really enjoyed seeing your Mentor. What a wonderful thing it is too, you are very lucky...old film pack and flash powder too!<br> These kinds of outfits are rarely seen now, so you have a treasure indeed. Any plans to try and use it?</p>

<p>I do love a good auto show, and shooting with a classic camera seems very appropriate. Your outfit is a real classic combination and certainly still delivers the goods. Somehow the Nikon F looks much better with a plain prism, but they are getting harder to find these days...thanks for sharing yours.</p>

<p>Thanks for these Rick....what a wonderful place, and the feeling of light is just beautiful. Two fabulous cameras too, and it's hard to pick much difference between the two here, which is probably a real testament to the quality of that old Tessar....one of my very favourite lenses for sure.<br> I have just sold my Bronica EC outfit, miss it already, and your images don't help! Feel free to share more images from this area, always nice to view. Oh, and I apologize for the weather we are bout to send you :)</p>

<p>Damn, your little town looks even better in Autumn, or should we say Fall :) You have a real knack of producing lovely pics with basic cameras, and I must admit that I'm surprised that the Anaston makes such good images.<br> The camera may be cheap, but it still looks nice, a bit reminiscent of the Zeiss Contina, a camera that I must get out and use. I wonder how well the Pantar lens will fare.<br> I have been shooting with my Retina 11C and also a Minolta AL, and I can get my scanner going I will share some images....hopefully soon!</p>

<p>Truly interesting looking camera, and these sub minis just don't take up much space! The only miniature I have is the Minox B, lovely thing but I haven't really done much with it even though I have the Minox tank and enlarger.<br> Like Rick, I did get a few 110 cameras, still have a Rollei A110 somewhere, and one of those nice Agfa ones.</p>

<p>Yes, you do have a brilliant collection of slightly oddball cameras...love to see them all.</p>
