Im glad to be back and thankful that I have been able to spend a little time with my camera!
I haven't been posting new work here, I let my subscription run out. I am thinking of expanding my collection of work on another online photo site called photopoints, the link is in my bio. Maybe I will start anew on here with a non-member portfolio, but as far as I know, you can only have a few pictures on Photo.net without subscribing.

Wow! This is the type of shot I wish that I had taken!
Excellent timing!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, your thoughtful critique is appreciated and I will keep your suggestions in mind...this is OK, but I would really love a re-shoot. Your points are very valid.
She is 5'5" and he is 6'4", which makes for a challenge but I sort of think that showing the height difference keeps the integrity of the pic intact, however I think as you do that bringing their faces closer with a less distracting background would be preferable.

I thought I was just snapping a shot of my sister and her new husband
but she wanted to use it as their wedding announcement photo!
What do you think I can do to improve?

Nice shot with some lovely toning. Actually this building looks pretty intact for being abandoned. I like how you did not opt for the long, rectangular crop here and let the sky fill the frame while not strictly adhering to the 1/3 rule. Well Done, Friend.

I always appreciate it when someone takes a thoughtful look at my work. It is very important to me, above all, to achieve visual balance with photography. I don't think this would look right to me if the leaves were in line with the edges creating equal negative space on all sides but it certainly may have had more of a mass appeal if this were the case.
I will take your advice next time I am faced with leaves and blooms that won't hold still.

Hi Daniel, You have a nice portfolio...you should be very proud of many of your shots.
You seem to combine technical effectiveness with artistry and I admire that.
Did you use duotone editing here?... or was this just how this scene appeared either way, a great shot.

I am happy with it and I have not been happy with my work in a long time. There is something to be said for pleasing yourself..hard to do most times, isn't it? Sometimes when you do, the work is what some would call "self indulgent" and that is not good either! So, no matter what, you can never please everyone!
I left the bottom on because I really like that longer leaf coming down near the right corner and wanted to include it...but you're right...it would look more finished if it were cropped.
Thank you for following my work all of this time.

I really like the vatage point here from across the street and the warm light.

Great tone in this black and white and a very interesting building. Makes me want to go up on the porch and look in the windows. Nice framing here, I like how you sacrificed some of the top of the building to show us more detail.

I am a big fan of high key portraits and this is exceptionally beautiful. It deserves the high rateings that it has received. Just thought I would let you know that I was here, checking on you... and BOY have your grown into one heck of a photographer! I love the originality of your work.
