    First, I want to thank Todd and Laurent for their very kind comments. Very much appreciated. I still wish like hell I'd not clipped the top of that cloud at right-center. I obviously got kind of caught up in the moment of the dramatic, but rapidly fleeting, lighting conditions and did not carefully review the composition as I was photographing it. The color version is also very nice, a completely different visual experience. From my perspective it seemed to sing most clearly in black and white. Thanks for the visit and comments, Chris

    Kenneth, this is simply a lovely image. Full of drama and mood. Excellent capture and processing. I have encountered the Alabama Hills with just these kind of lighting and weather conditions and it always makes for a lot of fun with camera gear (as well as the need for warm clothing!).
