  1. Len -- Thanks for the feedback and appreciate your confirmation that purchasing the 16-35 was worth it (I actually dropped it the first day I had it and the fall smashed the filter I had on it; I had to have a service center cut the filter off and thought the lens was toast.  I think that experience makes me appreciate using it more than I otherwise would!).  Anyway, this was actually taken at a different location than the others I have posted, but this outfall pipes are all over the Jersey shore.  I just think they make a nice subject for long exposures.

  2. Thank you for all the comments; much appreciated.  Thomas -- I actually hadn't paid attention to the rock in the lower right, but now that you mention it I think it may be a bit distracting.  Thanks for the feedback.

  3. Alf -- Thanks for the comment.  I tend to like square crops, and use them regularly.  That said, there was some empty space on the left of the FF image that prompted me to do it in this instance.

I think this image could be improved by pulling some detail out of the shadows on the second rock.  That seems to be the focal point of the image and it is currently bathed in black.  I like the composition though and the dark blue from the polarizing filter adds to the image.  Hope this helps.

This is a nice image, but the other you posted is better in my opinion.  It might be my screen, but the foreground on the right appears a bit too dark.  In any event, this is a nice image; the other image you posted is just really wonderful.
