1.
Spencer.
I give the Yashica Mat another vote. Simple, easy to use. and takes great photos.
No meter on the Yashica Mat but with some good common sense about aperture and shutter speed settings
you will take some amazing pictures. I had one and loved it. A cheap hand held light meter will help if you think you will need one. I sold my Yashica Mat and got a Mamyia C220 and wish I would have kept the Yashica Mat. Much lighter than the Mamyias and a sharp 80mm lens. Good luck in your quest and have fun with the medium format photography.

 2.
Not exactly a macro shot. On our daily jaunt at our favorite park yesterday noticed a lot of little black tadpoles along the shoreline. I just purchased this cheap plastic Nikkor 28-80 G lens and decided to try it out. Not a bad lens.
3.
Donald you are so right on that one. The cadets in uniform are extremely polite. And as you say they are very sincere. There is a museum on the grounds of VMI that is very interesting. I believe that is the one where the actual horse of Stonewall Jackson is stuffed and inside of a glass case. And of course General Lees horse, is buried on the grounds of Washington and Lee University. Beautiful campuses at VMI and W & L.

 4.
There are so many great shots this weekend.
Chuck Foreman, thanks for the comment on my photos of Lexington. As Donald Miller says,
Lexington is such a beautiful place and oh so many things to capture on film. The history in that place
is endless. Like Donald mentioned, Virginia Military Institute as well as Washington and Lee University.
The museums there are so wonderful. I encourage anyone who's never been there to go and enjoy
some of Americas history. You won't be disappointed.
