well, I guess these links aren't working. Hmmm.
The first lens is a Canon 70-200 2.8 IS for $1695 <---This one has a $50 rebate which brought the price down to $1649
The second lens is a Canon 70-200 2.8 IS for $1595
Same lens but a hundred dollars cheaper? The second lens is even a few dollars cheaper than the one with the rebate.

Same lens different prices. Anyone know why this is. I'm getting ready to buy
one but can't find the differences.
Thanks

I use an AB 1600. I love it so far. I've had mine now for a little over a month.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I REALLY REALLY appreciate it!
Jim thank you so much for going into detail for me there buddy. I printed out this page to take along with me in the morning. Much appreciated.
I'll post up some photo's after I get back!

Thanks for taking the time to give this a look. I recently bought into the
Cokin P filter system. It came UPS from B&H yesterday. I haven't had a chance
to even try them out yet. I'm heading to the mountains tomorrow to take
advantage of the peak weekend for leaves and don't want to waste a trip and
come back feeling like a goober simce my shots might not come out like I would
have liked.
Here is what I bought. Cokin P filter holder, 58mm adapter ring, Cokin P121L
GND, Sunset P197. I also picked up a 58mm Tiffen screw on ND.6 filter. I
already have a Tiffen screw on circular polarizer and know how it works. I
plan on taking a few waterfall shots while I'm there and know this ND.6 will
come in handy along with my polarizer. I'm just not sure how to use the new
slide in GND filter and how and what to meter off of.
I'm shooting with a 20D and a 28-105 lens. I'm assuming I keep my ISO at 100.
Tripod too of course. Which function should I use on the dial? I'm not sure if
I should meter on the sky or the ground? I would think one should meter for
the ground then the filter would do it's job on the sky since it's a grad ND.
I think it said it was a 1.75 stop on the exposure for the GND. Does that mean
I need to use the exposure compensate if I shoot in Tv or Av? I know manual
doesn't allow you to EC.
Well, I hope I haven't confused everyone...lol. Please forgive me for the dumb
question. I'm sure it'll come to me later on in the day like a slap in the
face but I may just be having a brain fart. I do appreciate any help it at all
possible!
Thanks a billion!

I visited Circuit city today to pick up some CD-R's. On the way through the camera section I spotted the new XTi. They had a silver XT and a black XTi. I had to pick up the new model to see the differences in the body. Of course the power on these things are never charged in the store. Going on look alone the new body is by far in my opinion day and night. It even has a little thumb grip.
Anyways, I just had to post this since I just got the chance to see it. Good luck!

Thank you Bruce. I replied and asked him to be more specific in what he's looking for and his reply was he just needed the photo's done. He has a designer who puts his CD's together. So I guess I just need to come up with a price for a few shots that he's gonna use for his CD.
-
Justin,
Do you do head shots and other promos photos? I need CD art work in four
weeks. I am a composer/performer based in NC.
Thank you

Any takes on how I should go about with a reply? I have no clue what to price
this for.
Thanks a million for any help on this matter.

Emily,
Thanks a million for coming to my rescue! I really don't know what to say after looking over your photo's. It's just unbelievable what you have accomplished with your work. I'm now a HUGE fan of yours and will be stopping by on a regular basis to look at more of your work.
Thanks a gain for your time in this and I hope to post up a few shots after I finish with the shoot on November 19th. Until then happy shooting and you have my best!

I'm expecting some studio flashes to head my way next month to replace my
550EX Speedlite. In the meantime I'm planning on doing a handful of Holiday
portraits around mid November for a few people who have shown interest in some
of my work. I do have a family booked already. They saw some of my shots and
wanted me to shoot them. It's a Husband & wife and their 3 year old son. The
wife told me she was tired of the "Walmart look".
I was hoping some of you might have some ideas or links to some photo's that
could give me a few ideas. I've been buying up magazines with ideas but most
are articles with very few pictures. I'm going to shoot on location so I don't
know what type of backdrop I need or props to take along. Any suggestions
would be highly appreciated.

Last year I put my camera in one of those huge zip lock bags before I came inside so not to allow the moisture inside the camera. It worked nicely for me. Hopefully this helped.

This can be done in photoshop. You can find tutorials everywhere if you google. Sorry I'm not of more help. Hopefully someone will chime in for you and give you a detailed outline of the process.

Hey Mark,
Just chimming in for a sec to let you know the background does look a little pinkish on my monitor as well. I use those Coloreal monitors in case you are wondering what I'm viewing on.
Congrats on a wonderful shot! Your model is beautiful!

nix that last comment by me. I read the reviews.
Thanks all!

ok then so these are original Canon BP-511A batteries? The exact same kind as if I were to order from B&H? I was curious since it says equivalent.

I was thinking about purchasing but figured I'd wait to see if anyone has
bought from these guys before.
-
Thanks Mark! If you have a second could you please let me know which model, 400, 800, or 1600? And how many do you use? Thanks Mark!
-
Thanks for your help Jim. I do have a 550ex I guess I could use from the sound of things. The links you provided were awesome and very informative. Thanks a million!
Danielle, wow! Thanks for the link to your website. Very nice work might I add. I really liked the fashion and senior photo's. That really gave me an idea of what is possible with the bee's. Thanks a million!
Jayme, thanks for the info my friend. I've heard the company has excellent customer service. Hopefully I'll never have to use it!
Anyways, thanks to all for their time and help. I should have my lights by mid October and as soon as I have some images ready I'll post them up as these will be the first ones I've ever taken using studio flash.
Thanks a million!
-
Great! Thanks everyone for the feedback! I REALLY appreciate it.
Any chance anyone knows of anyone on the site who shoots with these and has photo's up in their profile of the results? I'd like to see some of the possibilities with these bee's.
Thanks

I'm planning on buying 2 B800 watt alienbee flash units in October.
http://www.alienbees.com/b800.html
It says each one comes with a 15ft sync cord. I've never used studio flash
before so I'm assuming the sync cord plugs in my camera and into the back of
the flash unit. Do the bees trigger each other? I was curious since I'm buying
2 units and the camera has only one sinc(pc) plugin.
Plus, I'm assuming these are compatible with my 20D? Anyone have any quirks
with these lights?
Thanks a million!

"fortunately it didn't explode"......LOL!
Glad to hear you figured it out.
Question about these prices from B&H
in Canon EOS Mount
Posted
This is where I found the link to the lens.
John Schwaller , oct 16, 2006; 11:44 p.m.
I have not seen detail tests on the new f/4.0 IS. Assuming it is similar to the non-IS, both the f/2.8 and f/4.0 IS lenses should perform great.
At B&H, the best prices for each are:
70-200 f/4.0 IS $1249 (link)
70-200 f/2.8 IS $1599.95 (link)
Less $50/100 rebate on 2.8 IS http://www.usa.canon.com/app/pdf/Promotions/CIWC_Form_Oct06.pdf
This kind of narrows the price gap.
You then need to decide on the size, weight and max. aperture differences.
I can only share the experience of 3 of my friend who started with the f/4.0 (non-IS, of course) and all 3 now own 2.8 IS. Frankly, the size and weight differences are not that great....get a good strap such as the Op/tech Pro-loop...it helps a lot.
