I love it! I agree, too, with your choice to display it upside-down. Really nice! It's all texture and shape and warm, muted color. Great image!

Excellent work, Cody! You're doing really amazing work, especially your birds, IMO. ESPECIALLY for a beginner! I think you can shed that label now...

Excellent! I love the intensity of that eye--and the composition draws all the attention to that one point.

For me the lightening of the background inside the bend of the arm is a little bit too noticeable, but nonetheless I think it's a really captivating photo.

  1. I like it! It looks like you must have manipulated the colors in various areas to draw attention to the baby while decreasing attention elsewhere. Yet you didn't overdo it either, and I think the result is creative and effective. Nice work!

    Nice simple composition, nice pastels.

I wonder though if you lost some saturation when you saved for web. When you view it in your browser alongside your original Photoshop or whatever, do the colors look identical?

Nice angle looking down at the bench through the tree...

I think there's a lot of potential here to shoot from a similar angle and compose around someone sitting IN that bench.

Angel, it's difficult to find a "new" way of photographing the moon. I think you've done beautifully here. I agree with the other reviewer who comments on the nice pastel colors. The foreground vegetation is perfectly out of focus and the moon is very sharp by contrast. In my opinion it all really works together perfectly.

I like it! Nice creative use of Photoshop (presumably) to gray out everything but the bird. The mesh of the fence breaks up the photo in an interesting way IMO.

What a perfect moment! I love the relative postures of the three birds--as if each one is trying to sit just a little prouder than his neighbor. Technically, the only thing I'd be looking to try myself would be to open up a little more detail in the faces, to better define the eyes, if that's possible without blowing out the background. Or... it could just be this lousy ol' monitor, which runs dark anyway and likely just isn't giving your photo the showing it deserves. Nice work!
