  1. Pete and others.

By muddy I mean that the negatives initially looked unappealing and flat, where as the lab developed roll looked eye popping, what a black and white photo should look like. I was just wondering if this was my fault in developing or just different lighting situations..

  2. I've always heard of special agitation techniques people have and other

developing soups and whatnot. In particular, I've heard of people 'adding

contrast' when they develop, how do you do that? I just want to get down to the

bottom of it, where do people pick these things up? I've processed most of my

film and I just thought you develop for the according time, agitate, wash, fix,

and thats it. I had a roll processed at a lab once and the negatives were

crystal clear, and all my other negatives are muddy. Then I learned people have

all sorts of different techniques to produce contrast and other stuff. I've only

been able to find basic developing techniques. What techniques have worked for

you, and what are some general techniques and guidelines that I failed to learn?

  3. I loaded my Canon AE-1 with Agfa APX 400-36 film. I've been shooting the roll

and about midway I started to notice that when I advanced the film that the

opposite winding wheel would not turn in conjunction with the advance. Though it

does turn freely when cocked. Did the film come undone? Although, it does turn

every couple of pictures... I am not quite sure what is going on...

  4. Waited for a 50 'cron from Adorama. I got the box today...when I opened

it...there was no lens. Looked on the bottom of the box and the special tape had

been tampered with and the lens was stolen. I filed a claim with UPS...is there

something else I should have done? Will I be reimbursed?
