Thanks for the comments. I understand everything you said and perhaps I'll crop it in the future. I should add that I left the trees coming into the top of the frame (and actually made sure they were in the frame) because it adds to the disorienting feeling that comes with walking under that waterfall.
I may redo the HDR, also, and see if I can make it even better.

This is a single shot version of the same photo that I posted before
as an HDR. It was my first experience with a waterfall that I could
walk underneath, and it was unique to say the least. All comments and
critiques welcome. View larger for best detail.

I agree, it does look processed, but my eye goes to the water. The saturation actually isn't too high from how it looked in reality. Also, I did take a long exposure... but that was after I took this shot, and I didn't notice water drops on my lens until I saw the photos. Only after that did I manage my lens better for water for the rest of the day. I have single shot versions of this as well. I'll post them for critique within the next days.

Thanks for the feedback. I can understand every idea and I like every one. Whenever possible, I try to frame an image so that no cropping is needed. For this reason, I rarely crop except for extreme reasons, so this one didn't get cropped (but I also like the cropped version posted above). Also, had I had more time to shoot, I would have taken different shots of this scene, such as closer up. As it is, this was my second phase of shooting after using my wide angle everywhere first.

This is the first waterfall I've ever been to that is not only easily
possible to walk behind, but the area is quite large, complete with a
few small cedars growing. The photo is an HDR. In my opinion, while
the single shot version of this photo is still good, the HDR captures
the full range of light far better, making the background treeline
much more visible for an example. All comments and critiques welcome.

Perhaps it's ironic that a trip to a waterfall would result with a
favorite image of mine not of the waterfall itself but of the rock
slide below, but the colors are what make this most appealing in my
opinion. Any and all comments and critiques welcome. View large for

This is a favorite photo (HDR) from a trip to Hannegan Peak. All

This is an HDR from my graffiti series of a robot, which someone else
apparently liked. All comments and critique welcome. View large for

The horizon is actually perfect, it's the clouds that are at that angle. I see how you might think that, though. Thanks for the comments!

This was taken on my hike down from my campsite on the mountain above.
The big lake of Thornton Lakes is in view and the smaller two are
uphill, out of sight. I made this an HDR to help the contrast with the
snow. All comments and critiques welcome!

This is another HDR from my collection from this hike, looking south
from the ridge above the lake. All comments and critiques welcome.

This photo was taken on my return trip form the top, heading back to
my tent to make dinner. The afterglow light was too good to pass up,
and this is one of my favorite shots. The photo is an HDR. All
comments and critiques welcome!

This photo is part of a series of urban landscape and graffiti art.
The writing inside the big "Over" is "Drunk" on the bottom of the E,
and "2011" on top of the O. All comments and critiques welcome. Since
this is a fresh project for me, input is welcome as the series takes a
direction. The photo is an HDR.

Garlic on top of an old cider press. The photo is an HDR. I did not
set this up; it was a display at an event booth. All comments and
critiques welcome!

This is another favorite photo from my recent backpacking trip to
Nooksack Cirque in North Cascades National Park (via Forest Service
trail). The photo is HDR. All comments and critiques welcome! View

This is one of a few favorite photos that I took on my backpacking
trip last weekend, and probably one of my favorite HDRs. All comments
and critiques welcome!

The old Georgia Pacific paper mill, as seen down the railroad tracks.
I had seen this several times when driving over the crossing, and
finally decided to take the photo. The photo has turned out to be
better than I expected, in my opinion. All comments and critiques
welcome.

I can't find anything wrong with this photo. Excellent technique and blending.

My own critique on this is that I should have used a wider aperture since I'm not happy with the narrow focus range. Through the camera it looked fine, but I should have known better due to the distance and the lens I was using.

I don't disagree, the ND filters would have made for a nice shot, if only I had some in my collection for that lens... they have been next on my list for a long time.
