Hi all, I have the As-4 adaptor for my F3 and was wondering can I set my flash to TTL? I usually use -0.7 flash
exposure compensation on my F100 with multi zone TTL metering and am happy. Does anyone use this combo?
Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Just got my ME super today, can't wait to run a film through it! After using my Nikons for so long I wanted to try
another brand and this caught my eye. The build quality feels good, equal to my Fm2n but slightly smaller. Does
anyone still use this camera regularly? Any tips welcome. Also, why is there no pentax forum?

Hi Sachin, I had the same problem a short time ago where the shutter would stay open for seconds instead of say 1/250th. I tried the two button reset and took the batteries out for a while as well but to no avail! I had to send the camera to Nikon service in UK and it cost 150GBP which was disappointing as the camera was only a couple of months out of warranty. It has worked flawlessly ever since though and I love the camera. Good luck!

D80 upgrade
in Nikon
Just received my D80 back from Nikon UK and have noticed that I now have the
upgraded firmware, does anyone know what the differences are? Thanks.

I have the Sigma 28-70 F2.8 lens and I think it's great! Very sharp, excellent build quality and you can get one for a good price now. The Tamron 28-75 F2.8 lens is supposed to be very good and lighter if that's important to you.

I'm sure it'll be fine, I have the AFD version on my F100 and i've always had perfect exposures. I'm not sure if there's any optical difference between the two.
-
The AFD lens uses your cameras 3D matrix metering for flash and the AF dosen't.

Not sure what a SQ unit is but it's on the receipt as ?13.54 with ?140 for labour and tax.

Just had to pay 150 GBP to repair my D80 which was only 3 months out of
warranty so I'm not happy. This is my first digital camera and although I'm
pleased with the quality of the pictures I can't believe it's broke already! It
needs a new SQ unit which less than 15 GBP but then the labour costs push it up
to 150 GBP! I have numerous Nikon film SLRs and they have been 100% reliable so
it's put me off digital a bit, I just hope it's problem free for the next few
years. Anyone else experienced similar problems? Sorry for ranting. . .

Thanks Diane, I've tried cleaning the contacts, I've changed the memory card, battery and used different lenses ( all nikon ) but to no avail! The only memory cards I use are Sandisk Extreme which are pretty reliable. Will probably go to my local retailer and see if they can send it back for repair.

When I switch on my D80 it says Err but when i trip the shutter it disappears
for a while. If I push the shutter button halfway r15 appears on the display,
my camera is a year old and is not used to much ( maybe 1000 actuations ) has
anyone had a similar problem? Thanks.

Fm2 for me!

Olympus Mju would be my choice, very sharp 28mm F2,8 lens.

Anyone use the Voigtlander 35mm F2.5 pancake for their M6? I was thinking of
getting this lens so any feedback would be appreicated! I already have the
50mm summicron and it's great but I would like something a bit wider. . .

Prime lens
in Nikon
This lens is fantastic with the D80 but you should consider the Sigma 30mm F1.4 EX, this is the next lens on my shopping list. It should be a great walkaround lens and will be on my camera for 90% of the time. -
I must have saved around 600 pounds in the last few years from Jessops in Belfast because of price matching. If it's true they will lose quite a bit of business.
-
I have two Sigma lenses and I think they are just as good as the Nikon versions. Why don't you hire the lens from somewhere and see for yourself.
-
Thinking of getting a D80 as my first digital camera. I have quite a few
lenses that I use with my Slr's which are 18-35 F3.5-4.5, 45 F2.8p, 50 F1.8,
85 F1.8 all Nikon,28-70 F2.8 and 105 F2.8 macro Sigma lenses. I was going to
get the body only for 542 GBP and just use these lenses but have heard good
reviews about the 18-70 kit lens. Should I go for the kit lens or will my
lenses be okay? Would love the 17-55 F2.8 but that's out of my price range.
Thanks!

Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Canon Eos1ds Mk2 with L lenses.

Anyone know what framelines come up on the M6?
-
I'd just take the 50mm F1.8, That's all you need.

Hi Barry, I've used Provia 400F for street shots and it's great, I usually use Provia 100F when the weather's better but I think the Xpan's max aperture of F4 is restricting. The grain is not noticeable to my eye so I'm sure you'll be pleased with it.
