The Leica website has a page with the different views and magnifications of their various viewfinders. If you go to the ala carte section and configure a camera, you can see the differences between the viewfinders.

I have owned all 3 LX models. By far the fastest, no shutter lag, is the LX1. The LX2 was excruciatingly slow. The LX3 does have shutter lag, not as bad as the LX2, though not as quick as the LX1. I've kept it because the image quality is just superb!

I bought a BGN 135/3.5 Canon Serenar from them. Really quite nice. Glass is clean and free from scratches. Exterior is excellent.

Love the faux wood grain. A Nazi trade secret?!

Was it an off brand battery or a genuine Leica battery? I only use the Leica batteries. I have two off brand that I bought off ebay and they didn't last. Both of them died while in the camera. I pulled the camera from my bag and it was very warm to the touch. The camera wouldn't turn on. Dead battery. I put in a freshly charged Leica brand battery and it was fine. The off brands will not hold a charge anymore. Not worth the trouble.

Jared, any camera for the street is perfect if it is something that you would actually use. There are a lot of street photographers that use pocket digital or film cameras like the Ricoh GR series.

John will not remove the mount. He requests that you send the lens flange only.

"According to Epson UK, the R-D1x is being released only in Japan and there are no plans for a European release."

Jonathan, a 39mm UV/IR filter will fit within the petals of the front of the lens. I used a little black electrician's tape on the filter ring to make a snug fit. Works!

I use the 135 "bug eye" on my M8. It produces wonderful files. It is not hard after a couple of exposures to fine tune the view.

I have found the Panasonic lenses are undoubtedly the best option for the G1, especially the 14-45. I was hoping to see some differences using rangefinder glass, and I do not notice any differences over the Panasonic glass with the chip in the G1. As a matter of fact, I have been disappointed.
For me, Leitz, CV, and Zeiss glass are best on the RD-1 and M8.
