Very Interesting Robert. The abstract nature of the image really caught my eye. FWIW you may want to look at a more square crop for presenting the image.

Hello Marieke, I like the out of focus, very soft edges of the image but for me the center portion needs to be either a little sharper and/or have a little more depth of field to make it really stand out.

Hello Andrew, A shot like this really needs to include the whole tail of the squirrel. You also may consider cropping out the tree on the left. I like the nice warm light.

I was brought to your portfolio by Golden Splash and this shot was on the page under "others by member" and it really caught my eye.  Just a wonderful image, lighting, colors, pose, everything working together.

  1. Hello Tommy, I love the soft background and how the road and entire landscape seem to melt into the distance. I would remove the branches on the right foreground as they are only a distraction. IMHO, I think I would crop the left side of the image all the way into the tree so that the tree formed the left edge of the image. Nicely done.

Hello Rassie, Just a few suggestions that could have possibly made this image have more impact IMHO. It appears to be slightly overexposed on my monitor or is just in need of a little post processing to darken the image slightly. As far as composition, the image may have been improved had you been able to get a little lower so that the stream was more prominent and in doing so you may have been able to hide what appears to be a road on the right.

Very nice image that I think would have been better if you had the entire cherry tree in the shot as well as the entire tombstone in the center row leading to the tree in the shot as well.

Maria, I just finished critiquing the strawberries image and the next picture that pops up is this one. I even think this one could be a tiny bit darker overall the colors are fantastic. Very nice image.

  2. Hello Maria, Nice idea with the greens and the strawberries. The image looks to be either over exposed or overly brightened in post processing which has made the red and greens somewhat washed out and the image flat overall. If you could reduce the overall brightness of the image and add a little contrast and saturation I believe you would have a much more eye catching shot.

You have a wonderful way of seeing and capturing an image and bringing out the beauty even in the simplest of scenes that most of us would have missed.  I see many roads trailing off into the distance on photo.net and as such it is not easy to make one stand out.  You have once again.  Thanks for sharing

Hi John. I like the composition but for me the foreground shadow is just a little too dark as well as the wheel on the right. If you could bring out those shadows a little I think it would improve the overall image. Just MHO.

I like the composition with the placement of the Guitar but I do not care for the post processing of the dark areas in particular. The dark areas on the people as well as around the doors and guitar are very distracting IMHO and really hurt the image.
