Finishing up some the last of work from autumn, before tackling a month of images from NZ. This long exposure was taken on Cache Creek at the peak of fall colors with little bits of foam from the rapid beyond floating towards the camera.

Superb image!

A very brooding image with wonderful atmospherics and an evocative backstory ;-) Love the mist!
I didn't notice it until I opened up the larger version but there is a noticeable halo above the darkest mountain in the center... easily fixed before printing.

Did you use all those filters at once? Great shot and composition, the mill really jumps out to me and there is a lot of detail in the shadow. I could see a crop just above the yellow tree to remove that foreground branch coming in from the left side although you would lose some of the dramatic sky.

Just fantastic light, well captured. A little noise reduction in the upper part might be good but then since it's rainy it is not a big deal.
-
Nicely done for a mid-day shot. Looks like beautiful country.
-
Very engaging image and well executed. I might have tried to get the entire beige leaf in at the bottom and maybe cropped out the black thing in the lower right corner.

Tripods... what a useful tool! C+C welcomed, thanks.

Watery motion.... get it ;-) An eddy full of bubbles spins in opposing directions as the main current goes over a small fall.

Please view large and feel free to leave a comment. Thanks!

Shot a couple of weeks ago in the Sierra along the No. Fork of the Stanislaus River. There are a bunch more images in this folder from this spot where I spent the night within earshot and the spray from the falls.

Hey, I went there once! The scene looks pretty believable to me, Don, in terms of the reflection and I'm also not seeing any egregious haloing (which is a pet peeve of mine) that the other commenter mentioned. Very well composed and executed.

I completely agree with Michael's point above about personal viewpoint... more is better.

Kinda cliche but I like the way the line of the top of the falls leads to the people platform to provide a sense of the massive scale.
-
Yep, this one, the rider is more prominent. It's great how much detail is there on her body too considering where the light source is. I agree that cropping the yellow strip at top would be an improvement as everything else is in the orange-red-magenta range.

Early morning in the Sierra Nevada with a red sunrise due to fires to
the east. Last of the summer's wildflowers, too. C+C welcomed as always!

An early morning wind whips across a small lake above timberline in the Sierra Nevada. Long exposure at sunrise with mountain reflection.
-
I like the composition but it feels like it could be quite a bit brighter.

Saturation looks fine to me, Robert. Very dramatic landscape! Tree on the left looks blurry, probably the wind?
-
Very nice, Robert. Nice detail throughout even in the shadows. I'm with Stephen on wanting to see that whole tree. There's a bit of sensor dust just right of center in the sky, easily cloned away.

Hey, that's my hometown!
I like the compositional idea but not sure I like the obscured tower on the right. The B+W treatment is nice, maybe a little soft on the focus.

An image with potential but I think that I would try and make the water look whiter as it would in real life. You've probably overdone the Selective Color settings for the whites, which is a useful technique but needs to be subtler.
