  1. Nice but I woould correct the perspective distortion. In this kind of architectural abstracts this distortion is distracting - for me at least. The lowest corners are not in horizont, and the verticals of the right half of the photo are leaning. Or at least I would crop out the last window frames at the right edge so that the perspective distortion were not that striking. Regards

Good eyes, good abstract, but for me the photo is top heavy. I would rotate it by 180 degree, so that the dark erea (the ceiling) were at the bottom (after all you shot it for the abstract beauty of shapes and lines, so what was originally wall and ceiling, does not matter). And I would crop it so that the break of the line were in golden section. Eventually I would crop it to a square. What do you think about it? Regards

Great dynamism of the lines. The shadows of a tree(?) in the bottom right corner, a table on the lowest balkony and the clouds reduce a little the abstract effect. What do you think about cloning them out or reshooting it without clouds? How about cropping it to a square? (Cropping out the lowest balkony). The square as a geometrical figure is more abstract than the rectangle. Congratulation
  2. Having seen your newest abstract I understood that the triangle here is a knife. One droplet on it (here) is more interesting than many ones in the single knife shot. Multyplying the gag means inflation of it, and inflation = devaluation. But of course what is pleasing repetition or inflation - can be a question of taste.
  3. Nice graphics, I like it. Good rythm. The colour - BW contrast is perhaps a bit too harsh for me, because the blue-green is already a strong contrast in itself. It is a kind of doubling the gag. What is the triangle? - If it is not a technology secret of your firm:)

Thanks for rating my Blue parallels.

    Blue Parallels 2

    Merry Christmas!

I share tis photo with you, please share your opinion with me. And compare this

photo with Blue Parallel 1 in my Abstracts folder. Which is more interesting for

you? And why? Try to put it in words. I would appreciate it. You perhaps also

would like to see comments under your photos rather than only rates or just the

traces of unknown visitors in the form of a growing number in the "View" rubric.

Look around in my folder and feel free to comment or rate any of my other

    photos. Thank you in advance.

  4. The thumbnail of your photo was very intriguing. When I opended it, my first impression was a very strong feeling of deep space. Nevertheless your photo is really hard to see: it is somehow not pleasing. I tried to understand why. My conclusion is that perhaps there are too much "gags" in it.

    1: BW

    2: stripes (regular parallels)

    3: rotated space.

(4?)I am not sure if the whole photo is not a negative. Are the white lines higlights or shadows turned into negative?

I straightened the pic in PS so that the column be vertical. And te whole pic became pleasing - at least for me. IMO if the column were vertical, and not in the very centre but a bit to the right then the BW stripes were more diagonal. And that would be enough for a good and pleasent abstract - for me, at least.

Sorry for the long answer. I wonder if anybody has a different opinion. I would be glad to learn it. And what do YOU think about my hypothesis?

P.S. Why is it "The Socialist"?

    Blue Parallels 1

This photo has already got critiques and rates though I have not requested it till

now. I am hapy with that. Now I ask everybody "officially" to comment or rate it.

And please compare it with my other shot of the same object, Blue Parallels 2

from my single photos. People who visited my portfolio perhaps liked Parallels 1

more than Parallels 2, though for me the compositon of the second is more

exciting. Would be happy to know your opinion. Feel free to critique or rate any

other photo from my portfolio. Thanks in advance.

  5. I am honoured by your visit and kind words, Charlotte, as I know you are also obsessed by reflections. I have already seen many of your paintinglike works. Will explore your folders. Check back later, pls, all my next postings will be reflections.
  6. Thanks for your comment. My reflection is not in the photo. If you mean the dark pattern at top LEFT, it is the reflection of a bulding (a castle's tower) in shadow over the other side of the pond.

A "giant can" :). Detail of facade of a warehouse built of corrugated metal.

Please comment. Have a look at my other architecture abstracts, don't hesitate

    to critique any of them.

Jacek I like the way you reduced the image to basic geometric shapes still with a hint to 3D character. Visiting your folder was a great pleasure for me as I am also attracted by architecture and reflections.Regards.
  7. Reflections on water surfice. May-be not so tipical (almost monochrome). How do

you like it? Please critique. And if you rate, please leave a couple of words about

your reasons. And have a look at my other abstracts. Thanks in advance.

    After Rain

          9

Shot after rain, not much before sunset. The asphalt was shining with yellow-

gold reflections just like in this picture. Do you like it? Comment please.

  8. Detail of an otherwise ugly building (perhaps a warehouse). The buildng does not

represent any archtectural value, but I was fascinated by finding something

pleasing in it- the rithm and proportions between the yellow and gray patterns.

How does it work on you? All comments are wellcome.
