    Autumn Light

          6

For most photos in general, Yeah, it can be a bit distracting or drawing your eyes to the light.

But for this particular one, I feel that the light should be there so that it can "connect" to the shined leaf in the middle. When I look at it, instead of having my eyes drawn to the bright light, I actually feel that they are still fixed at the leaf in the centre, but my eyes also "aware" or the light "behind" too, hence the connection. Or in other words, the light (upper left) shines through the focused leaf in the centre.

I was actually thinking to get a bit more extended flare out around the pictures to give it more dramatic effect, but I couldn't get the angle right so that I can still get flares and a nice composition. But overall I am pretty happy with this one.

    Craig and Jana,

Thank you very much for the supportive comments. Coming from experienced photographers like you guys really mean a lot to me.

It's a nice portrait indeed. But this one I really don't see the point of the nude. I think this portrait will look much much better if she's clothed with her hand on the touching the(door?).

    Vegetables

I hope you don't get upset, but this is to improve the shot; I think for trained eyes, the background feels a bit fakey (especially the gap between the green leaves compared to the very white background). And the vegetables can do with a tad more exposure and sharpness.

For this kind of shot I actually prefer the more "earthy" type of background (to give more natural feel to it), not a plain white product shot BG. I like the placements of the vegetables though.

This is a nice shot. But for some reason I would prefer this to be taken with the old man a bit closer to the edge and not so straight.
