  1. Click,Click,Click Whirrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Goes the sound of my fly reel as this guy takes off with my clouser fly plus 150 yds of fly line and backing. I quickly palmed the rim of the reel only to get my knuckels rapped but eventualy bringing the frieght trian to a screeching halt. I saw out in the distance a large whirlpool of water, a head, and tailfin a couple feet back being illuminated by the rising sun. I gulped and yelled holy shnikes! Standing on a slick bed of kelp I pulled back on my rod whipped his head around and began the retrieve. He wanted no part of that and went for deep sea. After ten minutes or so we had both tired. Upon his tiring he was just below me slightly out of reaching distance to pick him up by his mouth, I grabbed the leader and tried to haul him out of the water. His last line of resistance was a quick shaking of his head and snap broke my line and he dropped into the water with a loud splash. In the next passing moments I was sure I had lost him until a violent wave had lifted the tired fish up onto a bed of kelp. Seizing this opportunity I threw my fly rod down and lepped on top him and vigorously put him him in a headlock as if struggling with a lion. Having him in my grasp I grabbed him with both hands and held him up facing the shore, gave a victory cry, Yeah baby! hoping for someone to see or here me and relish in our duel, perhaps tell the story of a wild man whom wrestled with a fish. No one was there.

Excellent shot. I really enjoy the bneauty of industrial shots. This one is really neat beacuase of the complexity of the wires yet simplicity in color and light. Very warm. Thanks for sharing with us.

Intsead of just rating it I'll take a little time for a comment. You've done an excellent job in post processing this picture in B&W. Love the tonality and contrast. On the downside it's areally tight crop which leaves me wanting to see more of this picture ie...waves and rocks. All in all real nice. Thanks for sharing with us.

I came to this picture from a small thumbnail to a larger view and I wish the Kayak had not been cropped. Otherwise the other elements are beautiful. Nice. Thanks for sharing with us.

I really like the composition in black and white. IMHO B&W makes it more mysterious and intriguing. Neat shot. Thanks for sharing with us.

I agree it lacks a little contrast as well, slighty dark but a really neat shot. I really like it. Thanks for sharing with us.

First the "Soldier is wearing what looks like western military BDU guessing germanic in origin. The small arms seems to be some type of HK or sig judging from the charging handle on the left side of weapon. Then there's the American flag to which none of these elements belong because non of our service men are assigned the items with exception to the HK mP5.

I would have like to see the small arm more vertical but overall neat picture. Thanks for sharing.

I love the contrast in this picture. I like how the elements of the picture draws the eyes right into the center of the picture where most of the light is. Real nice. Thank you for sharing with us.
  2. Shot in Raw mode. I'm quite pleased with it too. I avoided blown highlights, too dark, all without using any burning or dodging tools. I had a couple of options. 1: to use the red filter that comes with the Canon 20D programming which works very well or 2: My preffered choice is utilize a Polarizer filter and for PS work I do a channel mixer layer in which I decrease the blue, increase the greens to mantain the tone in the shack, and increase the red to get the dramatic sky. Then I do a levels adjustments layer for the final touches which includes contrast. and brightness deatils. Of course the internet doesn't do it justice. I recently had this printed today and it came out fantastic. Thanks for the comment and for stopping by.
