1.
Were you thinking of the Bronica GS?
Here are the specifications I found on the internet:
Bronica SQ-ai: 92mm wide, 109mm height, 179mm long, 1515g.
Hasselblad 501c: 114mm wide, 107mm height, 180mm long, 1475g.
Each with 120 back, standard lens, waist level finder.

 2.
For half the price of the Hasselblad you could acquire a Bronica SQ-ai. What are you getting for the extra money?

 3.
JDM: I once had one of those 35mm cameras minus the 'Time' logo. Removing the bottom plate, I discovered a lead weight (not kidding!) inside. I'll wager the engineers at Leitz never thought of that.

 4.

Wildlife don't generally see cars as a threat

as long as they're not white cars. Not kidding.

 5.
That's odd. On my Ikontas there was a corresponding red dot on the aperture scale. As Mr. Gammill pointed out, the red dot on the focusing scale is the hyperfocal distance for the aperture with the red dot. Take another look - the red dot may be on the side of the shutter housing, not on the scale itself.

 6.
The 'odd looking car' is a 1954 Kaiser Darrin. Produced in the twilight of the Kaiser Frazer automobile company. Henry J. Kaiser had made a fortune producing Liberty ships but could not compete against Detroit after the war.

 7.

I was advised by Minolta that it would not work with their scanners

I got more or less the same advise from Nikon: "not supported" i.e., you're on your own.

 8.
I would send it to Canon for an estimate. Some years ago, I sent my 300 f/4 IS to Canon for a repair estimate. They quoted me $ 189 but when they repaired it they replaced a lot more than what was on the original estimate. Nonetheless, they stood by the $ 189 charge. I don't know if I just got lucky, or if this was policy at the time, but it seems to me that given the price of a new lens it's worth the risk of roundtrip shipping.

 9. Dynamite fishing has been prohibited for good reason. Not a good example of a stupid law.
 10.
Are you certain that each picture was taken at the same aperture? Judging by the range of apparent sharpness of the text, I would have guessed the frame from the D90 was taken at a smaller aperture. Also-are the raw conversion settings really identical? The d7000 image does appear to have lower contrast.

 11.
The Xenar lens identifies your camera as part of the first postwar production run - Zeiss was initially unable to supply the Tessar. The Super Ikonta 'A' was one of my favorite cameras from the film days - as you wrote, hardly larger than a 35mm camera, but the negative was nearly 3 times larger. Sadly the condition of the albada finder is typical - I have never seen one in really good condition.

 12.
After you have made changes to the raw file, use 'convert and save' to TIFF or jpeg in order to save with your changes.

 13.
Years ago, I also acquired one that had fungus. JDM is exactly correct... taking it apart was no problem, but I never did get the helical put back together correctly.
