    Spectacular shot! The detail in the wings is amazing. I like the way the bird floats just above the dark background. The deep wing stretch adds drama to this photo.

    Very nice. The curvature of the wing against the blue sky is very effective. I agree that this picture would be even better without the trees. Thanks for sharing.

    This photo caught my eye. A very peaceful scene. The composition really works for me. The cold colors on the right and the warm color on the left seem to be part of what makes this work for me. Lots of nice photos in your gallery!

    GREAT photo. The powder-blue cere really adds to this picture. The angle at which you took this photo and the way the bird's head is turned really works for me. Focus is spot-on.

    Wow! Nice capture of a bird that is easily disturbed. The bright, yellow-green cere and the direction of the grasses adds to the intensity of the heron's stare. The common name of this bird was changed to "Green Heron" by the AOU a few years back.
