  1. <p> Hello, I'm on my 3rd dslr and luckily they were almost the same, the way the lay out that is. I haven't shot where I had to absolutely make a shot that many times in my photographic career. Recently someone ask me to photograph a birthday party and I realize at that moment I felt pressure to make the shots, and at that moment I didn't feel absolutely comfortable with my camera. Any ways my point is practice practice practice, as if it were a musical instrument and as some have said master what you need to know for the kind of shooting you do.</p>
  2. <p> The focus and features on the 5d mk2 are better than on the 40d which are better than the focus and features on the 20d which means according to yourself you've been shooting with rubbish. Personally most of my shots are pretty sharp off the 5d mk2 compare to the 40d, whether it be action or events. I haven't tested the speed of focus but it is definitely more accurate. Who cares if you rattle off more frames if you're not shooting accurately. </p>
  3. <p> I want a tripod for my 5d mk2 and 100-400 as well as a large format camera possibly a lightweight 8x10. I want gitzo legs and an arca swiss head. I don't know if the arca swiss will be any good for the large format camera. Any suggestions? It would be nice to get a tripod that will work for both as carrying extra weight won't be fun as well as having to shell out extra money. It seems like money was invented for photographers to acquire equipment. </p>
  4. <p> Sorry to tell you but you're doomed. If you haven't done enough reading and research of wedding photography to realize no one and I mean "not one" wedding photographer would ever refer to their zoom lens as being cheap even though it maybe relatively speaking. The other thing: you haven't already been shooting with a zoom that would cover your "wedding" zoom ranges. Good luck</p>
  5. Even 100 dpi is about 16 dots per square millimeter - if your eyes can resolve that at the normal viewing distance for a 20 x 30 inch print then they're a lot better than mine!

Remember that photographs are 2 dimensional - so if you want to double the resolution in both axis then you need FOUR times as many pixels - ie to double the resolution of a 20D (along both axis) you'd need a 32MP camera.

    Honestly - 8mp - 10mp - 12mp - even 16mp really don't make a lot of difference.

This is not true...I'll do it algebraically first...(Z)mp = Y" x X"...2(Y)mp= 2(Y" x X")...the best way I can explain it...is if you determine the print size from 8mp...it is already a number that describes a square unit...square inches...doubling that number doubles the square...whew...I hope that helps

  6. Hello...sorry to here about your problem...perhaps it could shutter lag...the camera was in the middle of shutter actuation but lagged because of the power outage...it may have not sounded like a shutter actuation because of the power problem...why don't you go back to the camera shop and ask if you can switch out the battery first before you buy the battery...they should have display cameras...does the 20d have the same battery?...if that doesn't work try going to Canon...They worked on one of my lenses a couple weeks after warrantee for free...find the closest service center...send them an email or give them a call...hopefully you bought it new from an authorized dealer...Good luck
  7. There's actually reason to buy both...the 10-22mm is a great landscape lens...while you're waiting to get the ff sensor Id definitely have this one in the bag.with some "exploring" you'll be able some shots you can't get with the 17-40mm...when and if you go ff sensor...you can get the 17-40mm then...
  8. Hello..I'm looking for a bag that will carry both a dslr(20d)...or

possibly an Id mk3 and an rz 67 proII...one bag...it's going be pretty heavy

but I want both in one bag...I also need it to carry about 4 lenses extra...it

might be better to carry two bags but I want to be able to put everything in

one bag...also do you have any favorites that you like to carry just your rz

in and a few lenses...thank you

  9. My best friend and my sisters could borrow my camera...they would be very very careful knowing how much my camera meant to me and how much the darn thing cost...that said accidents do happen whats a couple hundred bucks in repairs between loved ones...
  10. Unless there is a specific reason you need the extra cameras ...why buy...right now...The deals on the cameras are interesting but these are dslrs...there not going up in price and technology is still getting better...if the next 5d upgrade picks up fps, mps, dynamic range, sensor cleaning...guess what camera you wish you had...it'll be more than 2 grand...but it may be worth it...
  11. There's a lot of things to improve photography besides a new body...tripod,using shutter release chord, mirror lock up...and others...Have you explored all the ways...especially since I assumed landscape is one of your interest from your nice shot(doesn't look like it was shot off a tripod)...that said if you want something that fits better in the hand get whatever camera you like...if you're able to handle it better you'll be able to use it better that will be the upgrade for you...Thanks
