I always amazed by the different arrangements photographers can make from wet sipder webs. This does not dissapoint!

Whoa, one could get lost in those deep inky blues. I really enjoyed looking at the larger version, and how the shore and the old lighthouse catch the highlights of the sun.

    Hanger

Can't say it's like any hanger I've seen before. Cubist architecture? I think you couldn't have picked a better time for the angle of the shadows.

This is a little underrated, I think. The play of light in the sky is wonderful. The pine trees, though deep in tone, are separated and visible, and the little flowers in the foreground bring my eye back down, so it is not just all sky.

  1. I like the serpentine beach. I just hope this shot never ends up with one of those cheesy motivational statements at the top.

How far away from this were you? Maybe you did it as well, but after taking this shot, I would have been tempted to set the timer and make a break for one of the chairs.

  2. This is a much stronger composition, for what its worth. Powerful lines, and it's not so bisected thanks in part to the mountain range. You were digging deep for some detail in the post, though ;-)

These can be tough shots to pull off because the fence posts always want to "run aground" on the horizon. You end up with a couple of sprigs above the horizon and you're left with what is otherwise a fairly static composition. Very nicely exposed, though.

For the most part, the tones and lighting bring out the best in the "west pier" gazebo. I find the top of the frame a bit too dark, but it does force one's eye down into the middle of the image.

"In some ways, I think this challenges the viewer to accept the symmetry as a more vital part of the overall message, maybe, or as a deeper part of the image, rather than as a mirror." Good point. Possibly, but I am, as yet, unsure.

Oh, yeah, that one. I thought I had deleted it from the folder, and you were refering to VoS No.1. My bad. Incidentally, this makes an absolutely smashing 16x40" print on aluminum. Incredibly 3 dimensional.

    Cheers,

    Aaron
