A rolleicorb vb, nice! Do you know if that lens is single or multicoated? It is so luminous under the arches. My zeiss 150 is single coated and I wouldn't change it for anything. It renders blue cast shadows so much brighter than my multicoated 80mm.

Thank you for the comment Jose... indeed we must. I'm routinely amazed we are able to feed as many people as we do, what with urban and industrial sprawl claiming some of the most productive areas.

    Hi Marc,

the structure you're refering to is simply a rural power box. The difference in field of view is probably due to the fact that one was taken with a wide lens, and the other with a narrower lens and a different camera. The time between them is little more than a year, when it was bought by a corporate land developer whose plans have since stalled leaving the land as you see it on the right. The orange survey marker, deep tracks, and partial grading are clues that it is not just some kind of fall ploughing.

    thanks,

    Aaron

  1. Hi Noel,

it was about 5 hours. Looking back, I'm actually surprised there wasn't more shadow detail recorded. I might have to take another look at the slide to make sure. Thanks for your comment.

The grass "box" works as a bit of a framing device. You could definately crop some off the right, and a bit off the left, too. Making it an almost square shot would strengthen the grass geometry, I think.

Afshin, thanks for the comment. I think you might be on to something about the focus. Where would you like to see it? I placed it at the bottom of the leaf, towards the "heart" of the lily. Using a wide aperture to blur the background, resulted in only one anther in sharp focus.

    Cheers,

    Aaron
